The place was ok. Having airport shuttle to hotel and then to cruise dock in the a.m. was great. Our driver suggested we do a carry out from a local cuban restaurant. It was great. But the surrounding area of the hotel was a dangerous place to be. Did not feel in a safe neighborhood by no means
We had to ask for a room change the first room had some type of small bugs in the room. The front desk person was very apologetic but we had concerns after that.
Best Hotel I ever stayed in - Loved it!. Everything exceeded my expectations.
Nice and clean. Hotel staff was wonderful. Pool great. Free shuttle to cruise terminal, which was very good service. Had to pay only $10 to get back to the airport after the cruise. That shuttle was right on time and friendly driver. Breakfast area TOO small. Not many places to sit but we made out ok. Have to wait too long for the shuttle from the airport. 45 min. Bennigans is the only restraurant around. Food was not very good.
This hotel was conveniently located near the airport and the shuttle system was very reliable. The pool was clean. There was a nice restaurant within walking distance - adjacent to the parking lot.
For a quick night stay this would be a good value. The room we were in started to have a burning wire smell and when the front desk was informed they stated that they could move us but never worried about where the smell was coming from. Besides that situation, the employees are nice and the price is very reasonable.
I enjoyed the stay even with the planes flying over
The stay wasn't bad except when hurricane Sandy arrived. Lost power for the night, but the stay was good. No where really to go because there is really no place to walk. If you like airplanes and jets.... This is the place to stay, they fly right over your head.
We stayed at the La Quinta after our flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Our first night in Miami was spent at another hotel that was twice as far from the airport and double the price. After googling other options I found La Quinta. They had great prices, clean rooms, and wonderful staff! The front desk attendant allowed us to check in early and told us of a few local sites to see while we were in town. They provided a dependable shuttle that we found is sometimes hard to come by. I would definitely stay here again!
I'm accustomed to budget hotels being just okay most of the time. This hotel was an exception. It was bright and clean from lobby to room. Pleasantly appointed and up-to-date with a great bed, flat screen television, and climate control that worked well. It is 10 minutes from airport curbside and the free shuttle runs on time and has courteous drivers. My only criticism about the stay here was that the complimentary breakfast, while ample, was not very tasty....and it might have been the worst cup of coffee I have ever thrown out. I'd definitely stay here again, especially at this price point.
this hotel was average, staff was pleasant. I noticed as we checked in, the other guest arriving were airport and airline staff. Very convenient to airport. Certainly cannot complain.
We were welcomed upon arrival! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick. The room was clean & comfortable. The bed was perfect. Breakfast was a little crowded. Yes, there were waffles, bagels coffee, ect. But no sausage or gravy like Comfort Inn. But overall we'd stay again.
I was very happy with the La Quinta Inn at Miami Airport East. They pick us up at the Airport at no charge. They drop us of the port for are cruise at no charge. This is are second time we stay there for are cruise we always fly in a day before are trip . I was very happy with my stay will stay again on my next. I was able to print my boarding passing at no charge on the free internet Thank You, Sandy
The shuttle service to the airport was very convenient and on time. The breakfast did not have any hot or cooked plate option, just cereal, bagels pastries and coffee. The room, bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean
This hotel was a good value, but lacked some of the amenities that make for a good stay. The room was neat and clean, as was the bathroom. The service desk staff was very helpful (and spoke English). The shuttle to and from the Miami airport was the biggest plus. The regular schedule (every 30 mintes) helped us plan our stay. The drawbacks included a lack of an in-room refridgerator, an outdated TV, and worn carpeting. We had to keep the AC on all night due to the plane noise overhead (we were right by the airport). I liked the bed, but my wife was uncomfortable and could not sleep.
The hotel was ok for the paid price. I picked as it was conveniently located for my travel needs.
Really nothing great about this hotel. It is outdated and musty. The airplane noise is loud.
We arrived in Miami tired and needing a good rest for a long travel day to follow. What we encountered was a very stressed front desk that stuck us in a smoking room ( we don't smoke). After taking to the front desk again they said since we booked through travel website and didn't request a non- smokiing room there was nothing they could or would do. They inferred that because we booked through travel website we were second class clients... we basically slept in an ashtray.... The worst hotel experience....
This hotel was convenient because its location was near the Miami Airport and it also provided a shuttle service to the Miami Port. The rooms were clean; sufficient for a short stay. The price was very reasonable.
No hot water for a shower or bath. Hotel personnel were not able to speak English. The only restaurant within 2 miles was not clean. Thought we were in a third world country when we stayed here.
A friend and I checked in for a brief, inexpensive 1 night stay before our cruise the next day. Our flight got in at 10, we did not use the airport shuttle because we got a rental car. There was a long line to check in, the staff were polite and helpful despite seeming short staffed. Given the number of flights that get in around that time, it seems they should have more than 1 person at the desk at that hour. We had requested a smoking room, and had confirmed reservation months earlier. Unfortunately we were told on check in that there were no smoking rooms available. We had a confirmed reservation which to me means, they should have saved a smoking room for us. We got a great rate on the room, and I was pleasantly surprised that the outside of the hotel did not look like a budget motel. The room was very clean, although the carpet had a bad odor and I was afraid to walk on it without wearing shoes or slippers. But I have stayed at expensive hotel rooms that were not as clean - must c...
1 - the hotel is in direct flight path of outbound jets from the airport...so if noise bothers you, it is a factor to consider. 2 - it may have been a busy weekend, but the continental breakfast I experienced was not much more than toast, bagels and orange 'drink' - all of which were constantly running out. 3 - the 'non-smoking' rooms didn't smell like it...some kind of room freshener was used, leaving a strange, musty smell to everything. TV reception was hit-and-miss as well - I don't understand fuzzy reception with cable...? Other than that, maid and desk staff were courteous and helpful. And the pool looked clean and well-maintained, although I didn't have the opportunity to use it.
I booked 4 months in advanced for 2 'non-smoking' rooms through Travel agency. The location and price were what I was attracted as it is close to the airport and ship terminal for a cruise we were taking. Two people in my party were highly allergic to smoke and guess what rooms were given - 4th floor ash tray locations. Reeked of smoke would be a kind description for them. Asked the front desk if I could change - no chance this is what Travel agency ordered and this is what you get - sorry. I got the impression that hotel management does not like when rooms are ordered through Travel agency management said don't blame us for you misery - blame Travel agency as this is what was ordered. Rooms used digital thermostats to control the air-conditioning units - both rooms did not function. Also, both rooms were either missing lightbulbs or had light fixtures burned out. Will never stay again and would advise you not to either!
Older hotel. Dirty in the corners and around the edges. Needs significan remodeling and cleaning. Shuttle not 24 hours (shuttle driver very nice, but very busy/stressed). Embassy Suites next door. Hallways are filled with thick cigarette smoke! Horrible! (Seems to be airflow direct from smoking rooms.) Will not stay here again.
This is actually my second stay at this hotel. My secretary re-booked this hotel by accident the second time. Will not stay again. \nMy room on the first stay had not hot water in the shower or vanity area. I had a 7:30 meeting and ended up taking a shower during lunch at the local YMCA. When I called the front desk at 6:00 a.m. to tell them I had no hot water and needed to take a shower, his response was, 'Well, nobody else has called complaining of no hot water.' Bad. I ended up cancelling my second night and stayed at a different hotel the next night.\n\nMy recent trip to Miami for business, stayed at same hotel. This time at check-in, I made sure to tell them I wanted a room with hot water. Got that. What I didn't get is air conditioning. The room smelled moldy because of the humidity. When I called and asked for a new room with central air and hot water, they said they didn't have any more rooms, only a smoking room on a smoking floor.\n\nAlso, I had asked for a wake-up call. Gues...
When you're tired and need a place near the Airport to stay the night, this could be a good place. Don't stay for more than one night. The breakfast is good. The room was very little even though they knew we were four persons in one room. check the room firts.
we were supposed to have two queen beds that I specifically asked for, we had two double beds. I paid for two queen beds!!!!!
We arrived at 2pm. Called the hotel to let them know we were there and we were told that the shuttle come bty every half an hour. I had to call 3 times and finally at 4:30 a shuttle came by. Then to top it off when we got to the hotel our room smelled very stale. It was until the morning when taking our showers that we realized that is smelled because there was mold inthe shower. I took pictures and I can send them to you if you'd like. I have stayed in better for less!
Other than no shuttle from the airport as we hoped, once at the inn, only one young boy was working with a line of families to accommodate. Even though we had confimation in our hands for two rooms, they had us reserved for only one and it took an extremely long time for this to be resolved. Perhaps it would have been a better experience on a day that was not as heavy traffic.
