Points positifs: Everything was fantastic. It was intimate, clean, great food, very helpful and accommodating. We loved it ALL!

Points négatifs: Wouldn't have changed a thing.

Points positifs: Amazing hosts. Great location and facilities. Best homecooked Italian food ever. Probably the best resort we could have found in Mexico. Completely different experience than any of the large hotels in and around Cancun.

Points négatifs: It has now spoiled all the other hotels for us. The bar has been set way too high.

Points positifs: La famille qui tient cet établissement est très sympathique et vous donne de bons conseils pour visiter la région. Les chambres sont très joliment décorées, avec tout le confort. Le petit-déjeuner est très bon et varié.

Points positifs: Little paradise in the woods. Nice relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Owners are wonderful people. Very hospitable and super friendly. Wonderful to wake up to the sound of all different birds in the forest surrounding the property. Breakfast was superb! We had dinner as well. Really enjoyed our stay!

Points négatifs: WiFi was limited in our cabana, but we found it to be very relaxing

Points positifs: Le lieu au calme, la piscine cenote, les bungalow l’accueil de Vanessa et sa disponibilité et la cuisine de Morena.

Points négatifs: Ce n’est pas que nous n’a pas apprécié mais il n’ y a pas de climatisation dans les bungalow (eco lodge oblige). Il faut juste le savoir.

Points positifs: Le meilleur hôtel de notre séjour!!! Cadre très agréable avec une belle végétation. Piscine idéale pour se détendre. Les lodges sont très agréables même sans climatisation. Excellente restauration, des vrais jus de fruits sont proposés, goutez les plats italiens!!! Propriétaires italiens très sympathiques ainsi que tout le personnel, on se sent en famille.

Points négatifs: Wifi pas toujours au top.

Points positifs: The owners, staff, pets, food and the facilities were all wonderful. And our family loved all their pets, especially Ramon! The bungalows are beautiful and even the toiletries are awesome. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was very unique although it was not real cold because it was very hot outside. You can tell that this property is very well taken care of and the owners have put in a lot of effort to make it very nice. And the sheets were very soft too.

Points négatifs: There is truly only one negative and that is lack of air conditioning. It's too hot during the Summer with no air. It would probably be fine during the Winter months but it was a bit rough.

Points positifs: Cadre idyllique, beaucoup d espace avec les 2 chambres, vraiment très bel endroit, super petit déjeuner, à 5 minutes en voiture du centre de Akumal

Points positifs: We loved it here!! The property is amazing: very natural but also refined. The cabanas (we had a standard one) are also awesome: beautiful and no sacrifices regarding comfort (fridge, kitchen, ...). But the best part of staying here: the staff. Vanessa and her mom are amazing. The food was EXCELLENT, both breakfast and dinner.(Make sure you eat dinner at the villa). They helped me to set up the proposal to my now fiancée with a romantic dinner at our own cabana. More romantic, no way. Muchas gracias y espero que volvamos!!

Points positifs: Ici le client est roi.la gentillesse de notre hôte "Vanessa"et de sa famille nous a beaucoup touché. Cet endroit est un havre de paix ,un veritable paradis.petit dejeuner exceptionnel,bungalow magnifique,confortable et propre. Bref juste parfait et magique.

Points positifs: Plongée Avec Tuba. Personnel. Activités. Restaurants. Suite penthouse ! Dans l'ensemble, c'était un bon séjour pour le prix mais nous n'y retournerons probablement pas dans un avenir proche.

Points négatifs: Les algues étaient certainement un problème pendant environ 4 de nos 8 jours. Le personnel travaille toute la journée pour nettoyer mais c'est toujours horrible du matin jusqu'à 13h. L'hôtel est un peu plus vieux mais bien entretenu.

Points positifs: Really wanted to like but...On first day, requested quiet room but was put near large construction site. Was told that it would be quiet because it was holiday week and not construction would occur. Jackhammers started and 7 a.m. and continued until 7:30 at night. Called to ask why they told me that information, and they didn't have an answer but said the hotel was full and I would have to wait the next day. I called the next day and got the same answer. On the THIRD day, I went to the front desk and told them that I was told I could be moved that day. The front desk said no because others were being moved first. The front desk had no record of these phone calls. I felt lied to and manipulated. They also moved be finally to a room where the fan rattled continuously even when turned off. Hard to sleep.

Points positifs: The resort is a wonderful size. The staff are fabulous. The food is flavourful. The location is superb. The jacuzzi tub on the patio is a great idea. Every room faces a beautiful ocean view. The snorkelling and swimming were beyond our expectations. Who knew sushi on the pool deck would be such a great idea? Very firm but soft mattresses.

Points négatifs: We were not warned that construction was ongoing and we could not sleep later than 7:00 due to the noise. The room patio only has one chair and we asked for two but none was forthcoming. We were locked out of our room due to a malfunctioning electronic lock and it took well over one hour to have the boss return to the hotel and open our door. Smoking is allowed on room patios and as non smokers we did NOT enjoy our neighbours nasty habit. Double beds instead of queen size made it difficult for my 6'3" hubby to get comfortable - they should find some way to put the two beds together.

Points positifs: Traveled in June for 8 nights. Wonderful staff, very friendly. Only had a little bit of trouble finding space at the beach or by the pools - but we did hear the hotel was at capacity. No problems with our room, which was on the bottom floor of building 2, but heard about flooding in other rooms during the storm that hit. It was worth it not to have any room issues, but our room was super close to the snack bar and main pool, so not a great view. Was nice to walk easily out of our patio door and to the pool or bar though. Loved the yoga instructor for vinyasa yoga - wish I remembered his name - he was a really terrific instructor and the location/view was out of this world. For an hour a day you could rent free snorkeling gear from the hotel, but I recommend bringing your own so you can be out in the water with the sea turtles for hours. Lots of tour groups, so the best time to go is early in the morning, but we went out many afternoon and still saw plenty of turtles, rays, and fish, without being crowded. The food at the a la carte restaurants was great - our favorites were the Mexican and the Gourmet (just skip the chicken at the gourmet). Restaurants were all small though, so we heard there were frequently long waits to eat dinner at any of them (though we usually went at the beginning of service ~ 6 or 630pm and were seated immediately). The made to order eggs for breakfast and pasta for lunch and dinner at the buffet were excellent. The sushi bar was so so and very slow service. I think I got very sick from eating a mushroom at the Japanese/Peruvian restaurant (it was just about the only thing I ate that my boyfriend did not eat that day). The room service was included with all-inclusive 24/7 and usually very good (though it varied from day to day with regards to quality, quantity, and even ingredients for the same menu item).

Points positifs: We loved the snorkeling, saw lots of fish and turtles everyday. Although sparce, the rooms were very comfortable, the jacuzzi is a nice idea but we never used it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Points négatifs: Overall the food was OK, some we liked some we didn't. We ate most of the time at the buffet because of the variety. We did not like the sushi restaurant of the asian fusion. The brazilian restaurant was pretty good once we learned to ask for rare and medium rare pieces, otherwise the meat was so overcooked it was like leather. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of Mexican food, there was chips and guacamole but would have liked more variety of local foods.

Points positifs: The restaurants were very good, they give you good alcohol and the food is ok. Room service was great, the pools and the hotel was very clean.

Points négatifs: The brands of the alcohol were low budgget, They only have 1 drug store located at another hotel, fra from our saty and they couldnt bring the medicine to the room, you have to go for it.

Points positifs: the food buffet was excellent. everyday dishes are different. Free drinks, and the people were very helpful, polite and humble. absolutely worth my stay here in Tulum.

Points négatifs: the aircon problem, someone entered our room to fix for almost an hour. so we have to wait inside and wait til they were done.

Points positifs: Great and helpful staff, adults only beach, calm and relaxing ambience, enough sunbeds - do not have to wake up early to catch sunbed, food

Points négatifs: The rooms and facilities are really run down and really need upgrade. Dirty window shades, no privacy because the buildings are very close to each other, broken furniture, smell from AC that they tried to cover with toilet refresher, so you feel like sleeping on the public toilets.

Points positifs: Le personnel très sympathique Grand complexe, avec pas mal d'activités ( même si un petit manuel des activités du complexe aurait été utile, pas assez d'infos sur toutes les possibilités du complexe ). Les restaurants hors buffets sont bons. Attention si vous y allez pour un court séjour, très dur de pouvoir faire une réservation, les 3/4 des restaurants sont complets.

Points négatifs: Plage pas aussi belle que d'autres au Mexique ( Tulum, cancun ou Playa ) Le buffet est varié mais pas très bon, pour un 5* peut mieux faire. Les cocktails sont assez inégaux ( très bons au bord de plage, mais au bar du Sian Kan pas très bons ). Faire des cocktails avec des jus en boite pour un 5* ... En clair ils privilégient la quantité devant la qualité.

Points positifs: Magnifique établissement. Propre. Chambre de belle taille en style moderne. Personnel sympathique. Restaurant principal de bonne qualité. Accès à tous les restaurants à la carte le soir (sur réservation). Accès à l ensemble des infrastructures du complexe hôtelier. Très beaux jardins. Très belle plage

Points négatifs: Certains groupes de québécois qui se croient seuls au monde mais ça l hôtel n est pas responsable du manque de savoir être

Points positifs: Nous avons adoré le professionnel rapide et joyeux. Ils rendent le séjour très bon et agréable. Tout était très propre et bien organisé. le personnel en poste s'occupe de tout.

Points négatifs: Nous n'avons pas eu l'occasion de rester assez longtemps ici ! Nous y retournerons, c'est certain.

Points positifs: Nous ne pouvions pas espérer mieux pour notre voyage de noces ! Un hôtel exceptionnel employant un personnel adorable et compétent. Un rêve Les repas sont d’une grande qualité et copieux ! L’environnement de l’hôtel est sublime (végétation luxuriante, plage paradisiaque). Nous reviendront avec un immense plaisir !

Points négatifs: Pool closed too early, ‘preferred package’ was absolutely NOT worth the cost. I was offended that in order to sit poolside at a two-person table the resort charged a minimum of 150.00. However, if you sat four feet away at a table for 8 the price was ZERO. It code not a cent more for the resort to set up a two person table yet they tried to make a buck off of people and the way they did it with their ‘hostesses’ who were there to explain the ‘packages’ was in poor taste because they didn’t tell you it was no cost to sit at a large table unless you asked them.

Points positifs: I was a cruise fan but I am now a convert. All Inclusive is the way to go. The staff was amazing. I have never been so pampered!!

Points négatifs: It would be great if they had a phone app for the resort showing specifics for the day. They do have a tablet in the room that provides this info so this is just a wish list item.

Points positifs: Qualité du service irreprochable. Restauration très variée et excellente. Personnel souriant et serviable. Mention partculiere au Chef cuisinier français Denis qui Nous a réservé un accueil très chaleureux.

Points négatifs: Le fonctionnement des robinets de douche très particulier qui mériterait d’ˆetre mieux expliqué.

Points positifs: Although the food and drink are outstanding, it is the service and people we like best. Everyone greets you with "hola!" and seems genuinely proud to help. This is why we keep coming back.

Points négatifs: I can't honestly say there is anything I would change. We had activities that we could participate in (or not) all day and evening. Entertainment spanned a wide variety of interests, and no boring shows.

Points positifs: We loved the hospitality and customer service! The resort was beautiful, very clean (I’m very picky about cleanliness), EXCELLENT restaurants, beautiful pools with soothing lounge music (the middle pool), and the spa was our absolute favorite!!?

Points négatifs: Only one complaint, the beds are really loud. Just sitting on the bed creates a loud banging noise.

Points positifs: Cet hôtel est un petit coin de paradis. La chaîne hôtelière Secrets est vraiment un must dans le principe all inclusive. Une nature verdoyante dans tout l'hôtel, des chambres spacieuses avec literie très confortable, une deco de goût, une plage simplement magnifique (avec possibilité de nager avec les tortues), bref ça serait vraiment trop long de décrire tous les points positifs de cet hôtel, il y en a tellement. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés, ça en vaut vraiment le coup. Nous avons passé un séjour formidable.

Points négatifs: Une simple vitre faisant office de porte de salle de bain... Pas génial pour un minimum d'intimité. Le personnel pour le Check in ou Check out faisait un peu de l'ombre au reste du personnel simplement super.

Points positifs: We had the swim out pool which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and room was one of the nicest I stayed in.

Points négatifs: For the cost I don't feel like it was worth it. We went to the Italian restaurant and it wasn't good. I ordered from room service and theres a limit on how much you can order. My reason for booking this resort was to get more time to see the sea turtles. You can only to go to see the sea turtles with paid guide.

Points négatifs: The staff was mostly unfriendly and left unsolved matters for a while. Their responses very discomforting. After a few attempts we started getting our concerns resolved.

Points négatifs: Le manque de chaleur du personnel de la reception. Les restaurants trop sur le mode americain c est a dire restaurants sombres et bruyants L indelicatesse des hôtes mangeant leur hot dog ou burger dans la piscine. Le manque d animation le soir

Points positifs: Nous avons fait la connaissance José au bar Iguana. Il gère son bar incroyablement. Il a fait en sorte que tout le monde passe un bon séjour. Un barman professionnel qui excelle dans ce qu'il fait. Nous espérons revoir Jose lors de notre prochaine visite.

Points positifs: L'hôtel est très grand et beau, le buffet du restaurant est super bon, de bonne qualité et frais, les piscines sont immenses et propres, le waterpark pour enfants est très bien, le personnel est attentionné et gentil mais peu de monde parle français

Points négatifs: J'aurai souhaité qu'il y ait des structures de jeux type balançoire, toboggans pour enfants. Malheureusement malgré les efforts des employés pour retirer à longueur de journée les algues sargasses dans la mer, elles rendent l'eau foncée et gâchent le plaisir de se baigner dans la mer, surtout qu'ils ont installé des bouées jaunes pour empêcher les algues de venir au bord de l'eau, cela dénature le paysage.

Points positifs: Cost was good for exploring the area.

Points négatifs: Distance from Tulum. Taxi fees added up on excursions to beach as the hotel beach was all rock and wall. Place was a maze so I ended up wandering aimlessly looking for the beach...which was a bit of a disappointment. For a family, this would be great. For somebody that wants to sit on the beach and explore - pay a bit more and stay either in the hotel zone of tulum or la Puebla. You’ll spend the difference in taxis within a day or two unless you take the collectivo.

Points négatifs: Employees are always angry and hace a very bad client attention. Definitively i Will never back here. Was a very bad experience since the frint desk. Jorge Is retard ir something happened with this guy, doesn't understand we were 6, not 8. Spanish specialty restaurant have great food but very bad Service, they turn off air conditioning and ventilators when we arrives at 10pm. Hot was awful inside, we need to stand up and retire from that place. You can't grab anything from any restaurant and go out, all employees convert into cops if you atempt to do it. I would not recommend this hotel. Try Royalton or Palace Resorts, ir even camp at the beach....it's better.

Points positifs: Very well organised, good food, nice beach, good logistics with trolleys everywhere if you didn't want to walk. Entertainment in the evening ok. Great service after check out as you can still eat and even have a shower before late afternoon journey. Service in a la carte restaurants very good. Overall we were happy with our 6 days here, thank you.

Points négatifs: Huge complex/resort. Beds were a bit uncomfortable. Maybe not enough umbrellas on beach.

Points positifs: The staff is absolutely excellent and very helpful. This is something usually found all over the south of Mexico and the hotels related to their service. The amenities are varied and they have many activities inside the facilities so you stay entertained.

Points négatifs: They have a HUGE problem with the electricity and therefore the AC in the rooms (Villas). It seems some time ago, not too recently either, they had a big problem with one or several of their electric distributors and transformers most probably due to the Huge size of the 3 hotels they have together. The thing is they turn the ac of the rooms off at around 4 pm so the restaurants have enough power, then turn it back on at around 10 or 11 pm and that is half way... obviously is not enough time to cool the rooms while we slept with the heat of the Caribbean Summer. This is something that really needed to be displayed before you make your reservations because it's absolutely unbearable to sleep in those rooms.

Points positifs: Everything was great the food the staff everybody was so helpful and kind lots of things to do on the property. The kids waterpark it's a plus and the server basilio may from the main buffet kukulkan it's great in anything you need.

Points positifs: Le personnel exceptionnel et accueillant, le buffet avec beaucoup de choix, les animations tout au long de la journée à la piscine, accès à une plage magnifique et à certains autres hôtels Bahia ainsi que leurs équipements.

Points négatifs: le manque d’insonorisation dans les chambres, on pouvait entendre les discussions des clients dans les couloirs ainsi que des ronflements depuis la chambre d’à côté ce qui est quand même un comble

Points positifs: Propre Personnel sympa Complexe énorme mais pas trop de monde à cette période.

Points négatifs: Il faut prendre le petit train pour aller à la plage car c est loin du complexe coba.

Points positifs: La nourriture était excellente,les lits très confortables avec une belle grande chambre et salle de bain. La femme de chambre était très gentille. Frigo toujours rempli chaque jour ainsi que les bouteilles d'eau fournis. Chaise de plage confortable avec palapa. En gros, le personnel toujours courtois.

Points négatifs: Mauvais service au Check-in et Check-out. Spectacle le soir très moyen.

Points positifs: We liked the activities and convenience that everything was located within walking distance. The staff was also great.

Points négatifs: the late night shuttle very slow. lacking entertainment after hours. The resort is too far from the airport.

Points positifs: Tout est toujours parfait dans ce complexe superbe. Propreté, confort des chambres ; repas. L'hôtel s'intègre dans la végétation ce qui ne le fait pas paraître monstrueux comme certains à Cancun.

Points négatifs: Un problème non du à l'établissement, la présence d'algues sur la plage, malgré tout les efforts déployés. Phénomène sur toute la côte de la riviera maya de mai à septembre. Par contre les matelas à la plage mériteraient d'être changés. Ceux des piscines sont parfaits.

Points positifs: There was a lot of seaweed in the water in the area when we went, and the resort did a great job of cleaning it up. The pool and beach were great.

Points négatifs: Front desk was terrible. We waited 2 hrs at check-in to get a room with 2 beds as per our reservation. Upon leaving, our safe stopped working and it took them over an hour to send someone who did not fix it and then another hour for 2 men to show up and fix it. The water in the mini fridge tasted like tap water and gave us stomachaches. And the restaurants were all terrible.

Points positifs: Very nice grounds. Good beach without all the seaweed of a year ago.

Points négatifs: Food at the specialty restaurants has improved since the last time I was here but is still only average. Waitstaff is friendly but a little undertrained.

Points positifs: Once you got to the room it was nice and beds were comfortable. Spa and gym very good

Points négatifs: Towel cards used and so people who lost their towels would steal yours, stressful to worry about stolen towels, sprawling, long walk to beach and pool from just about every room so I wouldn't consider it beachfront, every room is a garden view room, no elevators, restaurant reservation systems hard to figure out and again stressful. They don't realize that stress free is what vacations are all about. Food very average. I would expect these problems at a 3 or 4 star hotel but they claim to be 5 out of 6

Points négatifs: The restaurants - with the exception of Helios, the food quality is poor. In particular, most dinners were cold and seemed to have been cooked centrally and then transported to the various on site restaurants. Poseidon and the Thai place were particularly bad. Even Gaucho, which seems to bbq steaks on site, managed to serve barely tepid meat and the sides were comparable to bad airplane food.

Points positifs: We stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial, which was budget friendly and centrally located on the resort property. The food was decent and the property was really beautiful. The kids club and pools were just as pictured and really beautiful. It was also great that through our reservation we had access to the two neighboring resorts and restaurants.

Points négatifs: At check in, it would have been helpful for someone to give us a 411 on the property, actives and everything you need to know for the resort, that didn't happen and we often felt frustrated trying to navigate this huge property for the first time. The room had a smell and the pull out bed was all torn and ratty - and we paid extra for the junior suite. It could definitely use some upgrades. Also, the resort, while stunning, was so spread out that my kids were exhausted getting around (3 and 6 years old). We ended up walking to the White Sands resort next door for all of our food (newer, cleaner and more quality food). The Colonial buffets felt old and the food unappealing. It was great we had that option though.

Points négatifs: Didn’t like how beach was ...very disappointing we didn’t get in because of the sea weed.... very disappointing that the natural pool on the other side was closed off for Palladium clients even though it was filled with sea weed as well.... at the photo pro i really felt disrespected when one of the guys that worked there tried to tell me which photo I chose as I was buying a few! He printed the wrong one and he blame me that I chose that one which I didn’t.... had to be rough with him...he was in a hurry to close!

Points positifs: La plage de sable blanc était charmante, l'hôtel était saisissant dans sa conception (La côte de Tulum est magnifique). Le complexe avait tout ce qu'on pourrait attendre d'un service tout compris. La nourriture au buffet du restaurant était bonne en général, on pouvait toujours trouver quelque chose de bon en dépit de quelques "ratés" qu'on peut difficilement éviter à si grande échelle. Le restaurant-snack à côté de la plage avait un buffet incroyable pour ceux qui voulaient rester en en maillot de bain. Les jardins de l'hôtel étaient magnifiques et bien entretenus. Le personnel était très bien et a essayé de rendre notre séjour confortable.

Points négatifs: C'était la première fois que nous allions dans une grande complexe tout compris, et je n'ai pas aimé l'idée que l'endroit n'avait de personnalité. Il semblait plutôt banal. Aussi le jour où nous sommes arrivés, on nous a dit que nous ne pouvions pas manger dans l'un des restaurants de spécialité pour toute la durée de notre séjour. Nous avions payé pour au moins se rendre dans certains endroits différents pour manger et nous avons dû manger au buffet chaque soir. Nous sommes retournés voir l'organisateur de dîner pour voir s'il y avait des annulations, mais en vain. Il semble qu'il y avait beaucoup de "règles" pour les clients.La plage était recouverte d'algues et des débris en face de la complexe. Il fallait marcher sur des gobelets en plastique, des sacs en plastique, etc pour entrer dans l'océan. Horrible.

Points positifs: There were an abundance of places to eat and places to get a drink. The staff was outstanding, the most friendliest folks that you could ever meet! Lots to do and see, and a huge complex.

Points positifs: Lovely location on a gorgeous beach. The pool is lovely and well positioned just behind the beach. You check in and get a wrist band which then means that you don’t get hassled by all the guides and tourist stuff. This is a popular beach for snorkelling and so there is a steady stream of tourists in life jackets trying to snorkel around an odd shaped protected area. The area of protection is a little confusing but we soon realised all the boats & tourists go at 5pm and then this little beach becomes a beautiful haven to snorkel, swim with green turtles within 10 meters of the shore and eat dinner at the great beach restaurant & bar. Akumal taverna restaurant, just outside the resort was lovely too.

Points négatifs: A little dated compared to other places we stayed but for our two nights it was perfect. It’s a bit like a (UK) holiday park, hi-do-hi style bungalows. But pretty gardens, great air con and friendly staff.

Le débit de la douche un peu faible. L'accès à l'hôtel via une route pleine de trou, légèrement inondée à certains endroits après la pluie. Wifi très faible (normal vu l'emplacement de l'hôtel)

Points positifs: Feels like your in the nature. Rooms are very big and have a nespreso machine! A balcony with a net against the mosquitos.

Points négatifs: The room was not completely clean, but I can’t say it wasn’t clean. The WiFi is very weak at the rooms. The hotel is managed by the owners, so it is not completely organized. We, for instance, wanted to eat early and leave, so we came at opening time of breakfast but they weren’t there. We needed to make a bit noise and call them so we could eat.

Points positifs: This was a really cool place to stay out in the jungle about 15 minutes from Akumal. If you want peace and quiet away from the tourist trail then this is definitely the place from you. The hotel is located about 10 minutes down a dirt track road and there isn't anything around, so bear this in mind as you can't just pop out for a drink and a bite to eat at night. The pool and gardens are beautiful and the rooms are very cosy. There isn't too much to do here but just chilling by the pool and listening to the tropical birds was very relaxing :)

Points négatifs: I don't think it was very clear exactly how secluded this place was, and the dirt track road was a bit of a surprise. It rained a lot before we arrived and the road was full of massive puddles which was unideal for our little car.

Points positifs: Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits and eggs you want. We liked it very much! You have to walk 1km to the road to Tulum of playa del carmen and where you can go by collectivo easily!!!

Points positifs: Les grands volumes, la décoration sobre, la cuisine bien équipée, les lits très confortables. Situation fantastique au bord d’une plage où viennent pondre des tortues marines. Jolie piscine partagée avec les autres villas mais pas de surpopulation. Accueil très convivial de David, pour prendre connaissance des consignes de la villa. Un véritable gentleman, très prévenant. Service de ménage journalier.

Points positifs: Loved everything about the apartment. We stayed in #1 which is more like a private house since it is separated from the other 3 apartments. Location is perfect, right in the middle of Half Moon Bay, right on the beach. The place was spacious and clean thanks to the lovely ladies from housekeeping and Louis the gardener. We loved the pool which we mostly had to ourselves the entire week. We had a private terrace surrounded by a small sandy garden with coconut palms and a lovely view of the beach. We could park the car right in front of our apartment. There are a few good restaurants in the area as well as a small supermarket and it's not far to Akumal town. It's also an ideal area for daytripping. Places like Xelha, Tulum, Dos Ojos, Cobá and Muyil are all very close.

Points positifs: Les villas sont directement sur la plage et bénéficient d'une très belle piscine ce qui est appréciable car il y avait beaucoup d'algues et la plage et la baignage dans la mer en souffraient. Les équipements dans la villa sont complets les lits confortables les chambres sont climatisées les salles de douche grandes et voisines de beaux dressings. Il y a possibilité de manger en terrasse ou à l'intérieur et le domaine est tres sûr.

Points négatifs: Les algues sur la plage (mais on n'y peut rien). Attention la réception est à l'entrée de la zone. Le manque dindication pour faire les courses (mais on trouvce de tout très près.)

Points positifs: Great location! We had a lovely stay in Akumal. The apartments are very spacious, quiet, clean and there is a nice swimming pool. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. They did all they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also a big compliment to the men who clean the beaches. We were able to see the little turtles hatch and make their way to the sea, amazing!

Points positifs: Location was quiet. House was clean and the decor/style fit the Mexico vibe. Good food nearby. Mini market only a 2 minute walk away. Susana (our maid) and Louis the gardner did a fantastic job keeping the condo & grounds neat and clean!

Points négatifs: Beds and couches were hard. Half Moon Bay should be renamed Seaweed Bay. There is so much piled up you cannot walk to Buena Vida on the beach even though it is only 100 yards away. A great trip went south on our last day. That was when the resort manager (David) banged on our door at 8:00AM and tried to get us to pack up early so he could give our condo to some new guests who showed up early, (even though the other 3 units were empty). Unbelievably, he tried to convince us the airline had changed our departure time to 90 minutes earlier than scheduled. This was a lie of course. We watched the new group move into our condo (#1) as we drove away even though they had rented #4. David treated us well all week until this last incident. But, this last stunt put a huge damper on the whole trip.

Points positifs: I liked that once you figured out where everything was it was relatively easy to get around and everyone on staff is very helpful.

Points négatifs: The mini bar and room service selections were a little sparse. The walkways being so extremely slick after it rained and there being no mats to prevent slipping.

Points positifs: Concierge Marlene was excellent. The hydrotherapy and massage were amazing!

Points négatifs: The food was only mediocre. The buffet was less than appealing.

Points positifs: I travelled from Luxembourg this time. Mostly appreciated very nice and helpful staff, especially, everything goes resolved with tips; the breakfast (quality and variety of healthy food), coffee shop on the hotel territory, bright room, bbq party on the beach and Mayan night dinner (extra to be paid). Special thanks for your collaboration with Traffic tours and Cancun Adventures company, that made my stay much more pleasant in your hotel: if you like to have a smaller group of people for trips and great knowledgeable gides, good healthy food during the trip, early arrival to e.g. Chichen-Itza for great fotos without thousands of tourists - definitely go with Cancun Adventures !

Points négatifs: Too much glass, reflecting sound everywhere, too noisy and not able to relax or sleep even with earplugs; not enough space on the beach for the crowd and very bad quality of sunbeds - replace them to confirm you're a 5 star hotel!! - the bugs in my room, jacuzzi bathtub that i didn't use even once- very old spots on it - clean them or replace them. From food point of view, for people that are on diet or eat healthy, it's not enough (e.g. 2 types of fish). Entertainment is no value to spend time on. Saxophone in Sky Bar was nice. Special comments on the restaurants: the staff doesn't pay attention to a person sitting alone, preferring to serve big groups (looking for tips that those groups don't give, actually). In Mediterranian, i had issues with food, so i was offered one extra dinner in Japanese, where i've been sitting on the corner, and the cook forgot to make me rise - thanks to one family, they gave me theirs - and he offered extras to everyone, except me - which i consider completely impolite (for ex., if someone asked for salmon, but he cooked more chicken, he offered that extra chicken to everyone). In Grile house i was waiting for 1 hour for my meat, the waiter forgot about it, he started to clean my table after 1h and offered me to take desert - i reminded about meat - and he brought it to me in next 15min, overcooked, and it was 10min before closure. You have to know that it's EXTREMELY NOISY in all restaurants, as staff moves the tables and chairs like pushing them, and half an hour before closure staff starts to clean, so you can't really enjoy the food, if your time in resto was 8.30. It was not only me complaining about these cases in restaurants, which I consider inappropriate for the 5star hotel restaurants. The staff maybe was underrepresented, but still there should be attention to all guests, and good enough quality of food.

Points positifs: The rooms are beautiful, like the pictures. Spacious, comfortable. Loved the jacuzzi and the bench in front of the bed cause you can sit there if you're wet. The place is enourmos, so every day we did find a spot near the beach and the pool area. We did walk a lot and got lost though but it is ok. There are snack bars all around the areas with plenty of food. The night shows are excellent, we loved the lion king one, didn't think it was the animation staff... The staff is super friendly, also the concierge, good that you have two each building. The beach is clean, they cleaned the Sargazo that gets there everyday but it is not much. They have nets to catch it before it gets to the shore. We definitely would love to come back

Points négatifs: The matress is too soft, so anytime one of us turn around the other one almost jumps ... We did rest though. There's a smell of wood or drywall in the bedroom, I supposed that is a new one. It's curious that all the switches were broken specially the ones in the bathroom. Also when we arrived the glass door of the toilet had fingerprints. As a Mexican the "Mexican food" is tasteless, but there are plenty of options in the buffet. There's a weird and bad smell near to the healthy snack...

Points positifs: The staff was friendly and helpful. They were prompt and responded quickly to any issue we had however small it was. Meals we're well prepared, fresh and delicious. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. Our accommodating hosts even served drinks and meals at the rooftop area even though it was low season. The beach is quiet and clean. Swimming and snorkeling were amazing. All in all a fantastic vacation. Thank you Tony and your wonderful team for the best tropical experience in recent memory.

We didn’t realize the location was 30 minutes from tulum until we arrived but it worked out in our favor and we had a wonderful time (at a far better rate)... a happy accident, if you will. The beaches were quieter and sandier than tulum. And it’s so close to akumal and the best cenotes. DEFINITELY rent a car, but every moment is worth it. Thank you!!

Points positifs: A really surly, unwelcoming arrival. The condos are pretty run down. The beach is nice (despite the seaweed) and the rooftop bar was totally deserted - but what a lovely, friendly barman!

Points positifs: Upgraded to beachfront condo because our pool view room looked dark, outdated and small. Condo was beautiful but the upgrade was expensive. On site restaurant was excellent & great price. We ate there every meal but u either took food back to room or at at pool since the restaurant didn't have a dining area. Beach was beautiful but had seaweed piled up and constantly washing ashore...not hotels fault.

Points positifs: This is the second time I've stayed in Casa Gatos and the place is a great value for the price. David and Dan are very friendly and helpful. It's very close to Yal Ku and Half Moon Bay so you are a short walk to the best snorkeling spots in the area. It's a bit further away from the beach though so if you don't have a car you might want to consider renting bikes.

The location is excellent--within walking distance of the crystal clear waters of Half Moon Bay, world-class snorkeling in the adjacent lagoon and beachfront restaurants to enjoy meals and drinks. The casita was beautiful, clean and comfortable--a real home. Dan & Dave are superb hosts offering both privacy and the feeling that you are truly their guest. If you are looking for a safe, friendly, fun and genuine experience in the Yucatan, North Akumal is a treasure. Places like this blow the resort version of a holiday out of the water.

Thank you Manwella and Jose for your dedicated work ethics and lovely, sweet energies! I loved all the beautiful greenery and the gorgeous, spacious casita decorated with stunning cultural artwork from around the world! Points négatifs: A pool would be nice to cool off in! Also, the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. But otherwise, everything was outstanding and beyond my expectations!

Points positifs: L'accueil a été incroyablement chaleureux. Le couple nous a donné beaucoup de bons conseils pour visiter le Mexique et n'a pas hésité à nous déposer à certains endroits lors de nos visites! L'appartement et le patio sont magnifiques. L'appart est situé au calme et très stratégique pour aller voir les tortues de mer! Nous avons commencé notre trip au Mexique chez eux et ce fut une belle entrée en matière :-)

Points négatifs: - the bed was very small for 2 people - the swimming pool is very small - coral is dead :( very dead - no easy way to get into the water (rocks everywhere) - there is no way to get into a sandy beach in Akumal bay for free. (for 100 pesos, you will end up in an overcrowded beach) - It's very expensive to get in and out of this place - No good restaurants around (the only restaurant that was around - La Buena Vida was very bad)

Points positifs: L'emplacement sur la plage est parfait. L'appartement est très grand et très bien équipé, avec un grand balcon qui donne sur la mer et un hamac pour se poser et de laisser bercer par le son des vagues. Le ménage et les lits sont faits tous les jours. L'appartement est situé dans une zone calme. Il y a même une piscine au bar/restaurant à côté si la mer ne suffit pas. Nous avons passé trois nuits fin octobre pour un prix de 80€ par nuit. Imbattable. C'était parfait.

Points négatifs: La plage inaccessible car envahi de sargasse. Quel dommage... Pour info, la "saison" des sargasses est limitée.

Points positifs: Beach 5 meters from the hotel room. Excellent restaurant about 1 minute walk away (also right on the beach) , very friendly, English-speaking staff ... about 2 minute drive to shopping area

Points positifs: Hôtel super calme sur la route côtière à seulement 1km du centre de la station balnéaire d'Akumal, et pas isolé pour autant car de petites structures tout au long de cette route. Chambre en rez-de-chaussée, avec petite terrasse et accès direct à la plage, vue magnifique. Chambre avec tout le confort nécessaire et bien propre. Moins belle plage que sur la baie d'Akumal, car un peu de cailloux mais tellement plus tranquille, et très peu de sargasses en cette fin novembre. Nos 6 amis étaient dans un grand appartement au 1er étage, tout aussi bien agencé et avec une super terrasse vue mer. Le restaurant la Buena Vida juste à côté était super sympa et les plats excellents. Leur piscine, à laquelle nous avions accès, était un peu petite mais de toute façon la mer était beaucoup mieux.
