Points positifs : The staff were very friendly and the pick up was easy
Points négatifs : Returning the car took a little longer than expected because the agent has to leave the desk and go inspect the car.
Points positifs : We prepaid for the car in St Thomas for a minivan that we were going to take to St John and have done this for years. The counter help said we couldn't take the car to St John and wouldn't offer us another car or refund our money. Had to go to Budget and get a 7 passenger vehicle at about $250 more.
Points négatifs : Hertz could have offered us a car, could have told us we can't take if off the island of St Thomas, or maybe offer to find a car from another company. Hertz also said since we made the reservation through Kayak it is not their problem. Any help Kayak?
Points négatifs : I paid for a Jeep months before this trip and when we arrived they didn’t have any Jeeps at all. They said it’s either a Huyandi Sonata or nothing. They didn’t even offer to make up the price difference.
Points positifs : The staff at pick up was super slow, almost rude. and of course extra charges. Always extra charges! Super annoying. I'm sure everyone has a bad day but after 13 hr flight I don't really want to be first in line and still take over an hour to pick up the dang car.
Points négatifs : It ended up costing me more then I thought I was paying. And it should be told when signing up that a second driver is way more money. I reserved it as it was a gift but then had to pay more for my husband to drive. They would exclude me.

Points négatifs : The Jeep had very creaky brakes- probably from all f the mountain driving

Points négatifs : They need to post a sign where the Hertz drop off area. I went to the airport and went to check out. I was directed to exit the airport and followed directions. A clearly marked sign would have saved me time and energy.
Need my money returned
Points négatifs : Plane arrived at 5:00 p.m. We arrived at Hertz desk at 5:15. The girl behind the desk would not rent the car to us because she said they closed at 5:00 p.m. "Come back tomorrow." Luckily Avis had one car available for us to rent or we would have had to spend the night in the airport. We never got to rent the Hertz vehicle. I'll be expecting my money back. The girl behind the Hertz desk should be fired!!!
Points négatifs : Because I booked through you they were going to charge an extra $13.50 per day for an additional driver. That was a shock and from now on I will rent directly from them or another car rental agency.
Not impressed with Hertz during Hurricane Irma
Points négatifs : Our trip had to be cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. I understand that we had a non-refundable reservation but Hertz could have been a good corporate citizen and waived the $50 cancellation fee or offered to donate it to relief efforts. We would have been happy to have that $50 go towards the people of St. Thomas rather than to Hertz's profit margin. Hertz should think outside the box regarding their cancellation policy during such a devastating time!

Points négatifs : We had to cancel because of Cat 5 hurricanes Irma! And got charged a 50.00 cancellation fee!!!! We will never use Hertz again!!!!!
