Points positifs : No inclination as to requiring a FLIGHT itinerary when posting with a debit card. Drove all the way down to be told I can’t rent a car because I’m not using a credit card.
Points positifs : The staff in a friendly way said, "we don't accept debit cards at this location."
Points négatifs : I made a reservation at a day in advance and confirmed via phonecall the morning of my pickup. When I called later that day, I was told that all vehicles were sold out. My reservation never should have gone through or been confirmed.
Points positifs : Nothing. They were closed at the time i was supposed to pick up my rental (6pm)!!!
Points négatifs : Kayak could have been aware of the office hours for the rental location instead of letting me choose a pick-up time that the place isn't open.

Points négatifs : Understaffed at Hertz on a Friday summer morning. We had a reserved car. But there were walk ins who were permitted to cut in line per se. I’m not sure what the point was of providing a pick up time if that’s the case. I watched as 2 prepaid customers were told they can’t rent a car. Both were livid as their spouses showed up with paperwork to verify the purchase. Both were told to call customer service. The delay caused me to almost miss my friend’s wedding. The car itself had a faulty USB outlet, and the stations a pain to maneuver in the Malibu. That’s not Hertz’s fault. But we requested a different vehicle. They only promise something similar” Will not use hertz again. We had another terrible experience with them in Florida 2 years ago. Again, there was a line of angry customers. It was the longest line compare with other rental companies.
Needed to change vehicles during rental.
Points positifs : Drove from Michigan to Mississippi and upon arrival I had car problems. I called customer service and was able to exchange the vehicle with no problem. The customer service at the Southfield, MI and the Hattiesburg, MS office were great.
Misled pickup/drop timing
Points négatifs : Pickup center closed at both the pickup and drop off dates! The car was much smaller than the comparison given!
Points négatifs : Dropped off car (per rental agreement) at 6pm on Saturday (after hours). They changed my bill to charge me until Monday at 7am when the branch opened including a late return fee.
Hertz customer service refunded the amount as a "courtesy refund" but I was disappointed their reservation system and the branch allowed this rental to happen with no warning that I would be charged extra for a dropoff at that time. Will rent from the airport from now on.
Points positifs : Everything went very smoothly. No issues.
Points positifs : Called me when I left something in the rental when I returned the car.
Points négatifs : Tank was 2-3 gallons less than full at pick-up. Didn't notice till later.
Points négatifs : The car had a foul odor and when I picked up the vehicle it had low tire pressure and required me to wait 10 minutes for the attendee to put air in the tire. One day later, a light came on the dash informing me that the tire pressure was low again. I will never rent a car from there again.
