Le lobby était franchement daté
Il n'y a rien
Un très vieux et malmené. L'endroit a besoin d'une rénovation. Je doute que je puisse y retourner.
The pool and close to everything we needed
Hotel staff was on strike and in very poor shape because of it. Rooms didn't get cleaning service once. Counter staff that checked us in and out had very poor customer service skills. Crossing the picket line resulted in airhorns being blown in our faces and yelling. Having to push through the crowds - and loud music. Lots of homesless people and crackheads in the area.

Good Hotel for the Money
This was my first time staying at the Gouvernour Hotel. The staff was very friendly throughout our stay and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast buffet was actually really good. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the bars if you want to go out at night, and close to multiple restaurants.
I was not happy with the air conditioning in the room. The thermostat did not appear to regulate the temperature well enough. It would go from way too hot, to way too cold. I also did not realize that the only rooms that get a safe are the "business" rooms, and not every room. I did not want to leave my passport lying around, along with other valuables, so I ended up carrying them with me wherever I went in my messenger bag. I would have preferred keeping it locked in a safe. I'm used to there being a safe in a hotel room. Other than that, everything else was pretty good at this hotel. I wish the parking fee was not so expensive, too, but at least you can come and go as many times as you want. ($21 a day for parking).
Inexpensive, easy access to everything, parking was very easy, grocery store close
dated room, not the best area of town, concierge was almost never there
Ground Hog Day in Montreal
Just like in the movie, I end up at the Gouverneur Hotel over and over and over. It's always my hotel of choice when in Montreal!
The location and staff were friendly
The restaurant was bad. They put out a breakfast buffet that looks free and if you don't have a coupon they charge you after you get food about twenty bucks for sub par stuff. It is an obvious scam and when I complained they just shrugged their shoulders. Not cool.
Gov needs updated
Its a hotel chain in Quebec and even though in the right area for my stay it hasnt been updated in years. The rooms need a face lift and the bathrooms are small
--wall paper peeling off -- electrical plugs hidden by the beds, none on the bedside table, -- no small fridge, i was there for 6nights -- great flatscreen, but all furniture is old -- slept on a bed that i could feel the coils in my back, upgrade the mattress
I loved the location in terms of being right in the middle of all the action. We went for the Jazz Festival and couldn't have been any closer to all of the events. We also loved having the restaurants and stores right next door. The room was a good size and had the regular amenities such as hair dryer, iron, and lots of room to hang up clothing in the closet. I would absolutely stay here again.
What I didn't like was that the pool was closed from 12-5 everyday. Why? Bizarre?! Those are the hours we really wanted to swim. We couldn't bring any drinks into the pool area and they wouldn't allow you to leave with the towel! So we dripped all the way back to the room. Were also HATED the bed. Very hard and uncomfortable and only two very tiny flat pillows for a king size bed. Definitely needs updating.
La moquette avait une odeur, les chambres sont sales une sérieuse mises à jour est nécessaire
