We like the location, close to many activities. Hotel clean and employees warm and helpful. We have stayed here multiple times and have had a great experience each time! Thank you!
Very comfortable and plenty of room. Even though we were there in November, the location was awesome because of the view of the bay. We were not affected by it, but not having an elevator has the potential for being a big drag.
We got a great price on this hotel and I was super surprised the quality for what we paid. The room was beautiful and the balcony right on the beach was great. We were very happy. The one negative was that I found the hotel to very 'noisy' which was a bit of a letdown as we wanted a quiet/relaxing getaway on the beach. The leaf blower seemed to be doing work all day (or we were just coincidentally outside the times work was being done on the property) which kind of killed the romantic quiet beach view mode. And our room was right across the hall from the maintenance closet so first thing in the morning we could hear staff talking loudly right outside our door, keys jangling, people talking through the staff radio, the trash being dragged back and forth passed our door, etc. It's not a HUGE deal, but it was a bit of a mood killer.
The whirlpool tub in the room and the excellent view. Breakfast had few options. Pool claimed to be heated but really wasn't.
This area of Traverse City was hit by terrible winds the night before our arrival. Phones, electric, internet, and cable were all down. Dan called from his personal phone to let us know about this disaster the morning after it happened, which was the day we were to arrive. Several trees were down on the property. Glad we kept our reservation, though. Room was great and electricity was back on when we got there. Internet and cable were restored the next day. Can't remember all the names of the staff we talked to, but everyone was very helpful and pleasant.
Room was very clean, the view and staff great the facility a bit worn but it is an older building and to be expected Nothing
The Shower was horrible. The bed was way too soft. The decor needs updating. We actually went to another place the second night
We came to Pointes North Beachfront Hotel for a short getaway after our wedding. We love northern Michigan and were expecting great fall colors. Even though we did not get that on this trip we enjoyed it just the same. The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the beachfront view of the bay and our balcony. The chairs on the balcony were great for evening stargazing. The hotel staff was friendly and were right up when the batteries for our remote control went out. This is a great place to stay and we cannot wait to come back next year. The room layout was a little awkward. Also, the breakfast was not very well advertised. In fact is was not until we left that we were aware there even was a breakfast provided.
Excellent facilities with a lot of family things to do. Every little things cost money. No free breakfast.
Family room was comfortable with older children. Room did NOT smell clean nor fresh and housekeeping single attempt did not fix the odor. Extra charge on stay was corrected and still does not make me eager to return.
The water area was not a big as some other locations, IE no wave pool, fewer slides, but enough for our kids who are 6 and 9, not to be bored during our two day stay. Upon arrival, the lineup to check in was ridiculously long with only three employees working the desk. Both the male and female locker rooms smelled terribly and we're absolutely filthy. Guest services, once they answered the phone, could not care less. Rooms were run down but the bed was comfy. The pillows felt like old bricks. Trying to reach front desk was like playing a shell game: unwound call, they would eventually answer, out me in hold, I would get frustrated, hang up, call back, and this went in for three different voices until I finally went to the front desk for help. Cleaning ladies were great!
Quiet, comfortable even with sports teams staying. Staff was gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was just so- so. Staff needs to not talk about each other negatively around customers.
Clean rooms, nice accommodations, continental breakfast was better than any other I have experienced, staff was wonderful, great hotel location compared to beach and what not. No mini fridge. We were having a bachelor party weekend... how wasi supposed to keep my beer cold??+
Breakfast was reasonably good but the facilities were cramped. Rooms were WAY TOO SMALL and lacked adequate heating/cooling. For the price I would find another place as this was adequate for the needs but certainly nothing fancy.
The Location was perfect. We didn't go to the beach but it is literally steps away. We were told that we'd have a 2PM check in time, we didn't get in our room until 2:30PM. The room was not clean; dirty wash cloth in the tub, dust on all woodwork, floors not cleaned. The TV didn't work when we got into our room and the maintenenace man said that is very normal; happens at least 15 times a day. He did fix the TV, but then when we came back at night, it wasn't working again; we didn't bother to have it 'fixed' again.
We stayed here while we were in Traverse City celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The staff left us some wine, a box of chocolates and a very nice hand-written card for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and the facilities were clean. The room we stayed in was very spacious with a view of the lake. The hotel is right across the street from a nice lakeside park, which we would have enjoyed if it was warmer, and is just a couple miles from downtown.
Very clean room and convienunt. the clubs were rude on more than one count. not real welcoming.
Breakfast Lack of fridge
We met up with family (9 total with 3 rooms) in TC for an overtnighter and enjoyed our stay. The lobby area was plenty big for our group plus other large parties to gather together. We had stayed at this HI in August also. Our favorite place to stay while in TC. We had 2 queens this time and compared to the king we had last August this bed was not nearly as comfortable. I was telling everyone how nice their beds were before booking but was disappointed at how wobbly the frames were. I think they need a little updating. Our room also had a funny smell (like stale bodies) when we walked in so I got out my orange scented essential oils and that helped. Overall, the rooms were fine.
it looked like they just did a remodel, new bathrooms and a nice desk area to plug in a laptop. The location was excellent, across the street from a park on the lake and just a few minutes' drive from downtown. We went in the winter, the parking lot did not look like it was plowed at all, and they disabled the front door due to the cold, so we had to go around to the side doors. The bed felt like a springboard - every time one of us moved, the other one woke up and we both suffered sore backs during our stay. There was a terrible woman at the front desk who thought it was ok to treat guests like crap as long as she called them "honey"
Comfy enough beds. Working elevators. It took forever to get our rooms ready. Early check in there is at 4p and we were placed in a different room other than our original around 530p. The AC was laughable. Water pressure was not unsurprising.
The place was nice. Only complaint is the elevators and bathrooms in lobby could be a little cleaner. Otherwise great staff, great place to stay. Nice location and wonderful breakfast, clean rooms. Nothing.
The King bed was great, I also liked the desk and closet setup. The coffee bar setup in front of registration was really nice, I had a cup of hot chocolate when I got back from work, it made my night. The bathroom was a little small, the room as a whole was a little small for the king bed, so made it feel cramped, but honestly I got over that pretty quickly, nothing like stretching out on a king bed. I am not a hilton honors member, but I would have liked some sort of 'welcome gift', bottle of water and some sort of snack, namely because I prepaid my room. I didn't get a chance to scope out breakfast on Saturday, but on Sunday it was packed, I was hoping to grab a piece of fresh fruit, but there was none to be had, likely already eaten by the crowd in the breakfast area, so maybe more fresh fruits in the morning (grab and go apples/bananas/oranges).
Super amenities all over the room. 1st class room feel. Real ceramic coffee cups instead of plastic. Unlimited free coffee in the am. Very fast responding service desk. Great pool and hot tub. Loved the lobby with the huge fireplace and 50 inch tv over it. Two hd lcd in the room. High def everything. Bed was a touch dissapointing. Only improvement I can thing of is to have some memory foam beds. Even the best pillow tops are no where near as comfortable. Would gladly stay again. And will plan on it.
What a wonderful new addition to Traverse City! The hotel is clean and comfortable and the suites are the perfect size for a family visiting the area. The restaurant and coffee bar were nice. The breakfast was yummy, but a tad expensive.
I travel to Traverse City on business and normally stay at the Cambria. We have on occasion stayed at other hotels but I prefer to stay at the Cambria. It is always clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very good. The front desk employees are very professional & accommodating. I would definately recommend this hotel to others.
This new hotel was clean and parking was accessible. Staff was friendly and helpful with quick check in and check out. Small but adequate fitness room and pool. Thought that breakfast was included but it
This hotel decor is very modern, room was clean and large! Too many kids jumping around to enjoy the pool or hottub, so we did not enter. Breakfast was around 8 dollars and was very very good. I would def. stay here again. Close to almost everything driving distance, although they did offer us a free shuttle to downtown.
Everything about this hotel is top notch. The decor and furnishings are upscale, stylish, expensive looking, and very comfortable All the comfort touches and amenities are special. The very reasonably priced breakfast buffet was superb. My husband had the best veggie omelet he's ever tasted, made to order- oooh and the bacon!!! The hotel's free shuttle service took us to and from one of the wonderful restaurants in Traverse City for a great dinner featuring locally caught fish. The staff was very warm, unpretentious and eager to please. It was perfect in every way!
I booked a room at Cambria Inn and Suites of Traverse City because I was in the middle of final exams for college and needed some peace and quiet. I checked in and asked to be put off in a corner where it would be the quietest. They did exactly that. I managed to complete an 8 page final paper as well as 2 other papers in the 14 hours I was there, had a great night's sleep, the food from the restaurant was amazing, and the service was fantastic. The hotel is only about 6 miles from my house, but I think my husband and I will go there for a night next time we want to get away!
We just got back from staying at the Cambria Suites, and we delighted with the updated decor and comfort of the hotel. We stayed two nights, loved the pool and hot tub. Had some noisy neighbors, but the management quickly relayed the message to quiet down and they did. Travel alot, certainly would recommend.
The staff was friendly and informative. The shuttle service was a GREAT plus. This was our second stay and we would definitely return when in the area.
It iw a wonderful hotel, very clean rooms and we are planning to stay in January for skiing.
Clean. Comfortable. Walking distance to downtown.
Close proximity to downtown. The shower was very poor, bed was hard and no blankets.
Pool area is really cool and has good hours. Staff is helpful. Beds are fantastic. Not many kids running around. The beacon bar on top floor of the hotel is great and offers one of the best elevated views of the city. There isn't much to "not like". The nightly rate is a little steep and I think that the restaurants prices are a bit high.
Beautiful historic hotel in downtown Traverse City. Walked to shops and restaurants. Clean room and reasonable price. Hotel restaurant service could have been better.
Right downtown. The decor was depressing and the room was poorly laid out.
We stayed in the historic tower and I loved the old charm. It is nicely renovated so you didn't feel like you were in a 100 year old hotel room. The windows are huge and offer a great view of everything around. The finishes were nice and the bed was comfortable. My husband complained constantly about the cold bathroom. I accepted this as part of the old charm, but the bathroom was very chilly.
We have stayed in 8 different hotels within the Traverse City area, including other large towers. However, this hotel had by far the best: -staff -views -location to downtown -onsite amenities -onsite bars and restaurant (food was amazing) -overall cleanliness -vintage feel I can only hope writing this will help people choose this establishment. Was a higher cost than other local hotels, but was easily worth it to us.
Location. View. Helpfulness of staff. Parking convenience.
I was double charged by kayak and the hotel. Kayak was not helpful in getting this fixed. The hotel is finally refunding the 2nd charge after 4 calls to different staff members
The location is perfect. The lobby is very nice. The room had an extra sink area which was a welcome surprise and quite nice. Newer TV The beds were too soft. The bathroom was a bit small and the tub/shower could only be used as a shower. For the main bathroom sink you couldn't get the water even cool - odd
cleanliness, friendly staff, quiet room, comfortable bed, breakfast area kept clean and well stocked difficult to find
The mattress in our room was amazing. We'd like to know the brand. The noon check out was nice. Elevator had an odd smell and carpet in there needs updated
Quiet and clean
Clean property, friendly staff. Good location. There were no negatives in this hotel that we could find.
A fine motel for the price, what you'd expect for the money
I was impressed at how nice and clean the room was for the price we paid! I was worried it was going to be a hole but I was pleasantly surprised! Pool and spa too which unfortunately we were unable to use. I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend family and friends to stay here. The tub only had two safety strips on the bottom. The other two were either worn off or missing somehow. It was a bit dangerous to take a shower with it being so slippery.
It's clean...good for a night.
Tidy, smelled fine Crappy shower, small bathroom
Absolutely nothing! Everything!
Standard issue 2 star chain hotel. Clean, and only cost $35/night during the January (OFF season) when there are tons of rooms available at every single hotel in town. I was surprised at the low rate, but granted we were there on a winter weekend during a snowstorm. :) It's a bit of a drive to the downtown breweries and bars, but not too far.
The resort had everything we needed for our trip. We were there for the Bayshore Half Marathon, and the hotel was close enough for easy access to the start point. We loved having the lounge/restaurant right there on site so we could avoid the horrible traffic due to the construction. Food was good, happy hour specials were great ($1.25 domestic drafts!). No complaints on the rooms, which were pretty standard. Beach was really nice, sunsets were magnificent. Only negative was the breakfast buffet and it might have just been a one time thing. It was a bit cold.
It was only a few miles from downtown, which was a huge plus. The beds were comfortable and my wife and I both slept like hibernating bears. (Though, part of the reason for that was because we just finished a two-night camping stint and slept on hard, rocky ground both nights.) We also had a balcony, which was sweet. The shower head could have been more powerful. It took a while to completely wash our hair. Not a big deal.
Great location. Awesome bar with fun happy hour!
The view was amazing. Loved having a room on the beach side. Bugs were all over the balcony door and we found dead ones on the bed and counters. The towels looked really old and gross. Room quality was a disappointment to us. It was doable, but I have higher expectations. If we didn't get such a good deal on Kayak and paid hotel rates, I would have been really upset.
The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Fawn and Diane went out of their way to make my stay with my 9 year old daughter special... and it was!!! I highly suggest this location for families. Facilities were clean. Food in the lounge was reasonably priced and yummy. Lots of amenities: indoor pool, fire pit on the beach, bunk beds for kids, play station in the room... great views. Sigh. When can we go back? We had a bunch of crazy gnats on our screens, so it was a bit awkward to have the door opened to the patio. Nothing a can of bug spray couldn't handle and definitely won't dissuade us from returning.
Location was great, staff were friendly. Heat in room was terrible. Shut off the first night so we froze. Shut off again when we were gone for several hours during the day. Staff adjusted the fan to constantly on but the unit made so much noise/vibration that it kept us up most of the night. King rooms are only next to commons bathrooms/pool/bar/restaurant so that hallway is noisy. Door to the outside is kept unlocked. Parking lot was a rutted ice pit, slippery if you have dress shoes on for a wedding as in our case.
