Points positifs: tranquil setting set in beautiful grounds

Points positifs: Les petits déjeuners. La gentillesse du personnel. La propreté.

Points négatifs: Literie très dure et insonorisation moyenne. A part le petit déjeuner, aucune restauration sur place,même très simple (sandwich, salade ect) obligation de prendre la voiture pour retourner à Vila Nova de Milfontes ou Sao Luis.

Points positifs: L'endroit est calme, le personnel est accueillant, le petit-déjeuner est très bon et copieux.

Points négatifs: L'établissement ne mérite pas l'appellation "SPA": pas de piscine chauffée, pas de bain turque en état de marche, pas de sauna, pas d'accès libre à un véritable jacuzzi non plus. Une ordinaire baignoire à bulles est vendue comme jacuzzi privatif. Du coup la prestation est décevante et trop cher!

Points positifs: It has a very nice pool and bar area and the private jacuzzi on the terraces in the premium accommodation are great. The grounds are nice to walk around and the views of the countryside are great. Rooms and beds are both large and spacious, although we didn’t really use the upstairs lounge area (better in winter with the wood burning stove I think). Breakfast was nice enough and they bake excellent fresh cakes and their own signature cookies daily which you can help yourself to for afternoon tea.

Points négatifs: Some of the photos on the site which attracted us to the hotel are actually from the private area which you have to book and pay extra for. You have to pay extra to use the hammam and jacuzzi. The mini bar/ fridge and wardrobe area in the room were a bit cramped which is unfortunate in such large rooms.

Points positifs: Notre séjour à Tres Marias a collé à tout ce que nous recherchions. Dépaysement, calme absolu, authenticité, confort. Aménagements sobres et modernes, en harmonie totale avec un environnement laissé à son naturel, dont profitent une autruche, quelques moutons et trois doux ânes blancs. Il faut ajouter le confort de la literie, les petits déjeuner copieux et l'accueil charmant. Rien ne manquait. Et enfin une piscine aux proportions étudiées pour une natation efficace. La nature est laissée à ses caprices, faute de temps pour le Maître de maison et cela ajoutait au charme des lieux. Amateurs de jardins à la française, d'intérieurs chargés, de promiscuité et de fonds sonores, s'abstenir.

Points négatifs: Breakfast could be better.

Points positifs: Nice location, very quiet surroundings. Dinner can be ordered and it is quite good. The guesthouse tries to position itself as something special and a bit luxury. However, all plates, cups etc are from Ikea. I would expect something different with this positioning.

Points négatifs: It is important to know that: - the dirt road that takes you there is very, very bumpy - there is no wifi in the room (at least room 10), only in the common area, quality is poor We found it a bit "impersonal" there. Staff was friendly but there was no personal touch to it as we were used to from other guesthouses.

Points négatifs: Le rapport qualité/prix n'est pas bon (150€/nuits): accès à l'établissement(2km) non macadamisé, pas d'internet, pas de télévision, juste une bouilloire, pas de mouchoir papier, extérieur et accès aux chambres pas entretenu, service des boissons et autres fait par la clientèle, etc... On s'attend vraiment à autre chose pour ce prix là

Points positifs: This place is located in a very quiet location in the countryside surrounded by fields, woods and animals (donkeys, sheep etc.) it felt like being able to disconnect from the rest of the world.

Points positifs: The breakfast was excellent - loads of choice of food and drink, plenty of savoury items, fruit and pasteis. So good! Eduardo welcomed us and was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. There was a lovely outside area with sun loungers and a pool to relax by. There is a small bar menu for drinks too. Many thanks to Eduardo and the lovely staff!

Points négatifs: It’s a half hour walk to the beaches and restaurants in Vila Nova de Milfontes. Or 5 minutes in the car. This wasn’t really a problem for us though.

The breakfast was great Ernesto was really helpful with Augean for dinner and routes to some of the local beaches. We were there in early spring and the weather didn’t allow for us of the pool but when turn hot that would be a major plus.

Points positifs: The apartment we had was near the pool with a outdoor table where we could eat breakfast outside :) The owner gave us a lot of information about the village. There was also a free parking a 2 Minute walk away from the apartment.

Points négatifs: The cupboards in the kitchen had a very weird smell like there was growing a lot of mould in it.

Points positifs: The hotel is towards the end of the main strip so it's not too much traffic going on, and we went during off season. From checking in to checking out, it was a breeze. The lady at the reception was very nice and spoke good English. She really helped us in giving us directions of where to go for food because we were starving when we arrived and not that many places open at night for some reason. She also suggested what to do around the area to explore, as well as where to park our car since we rented a car and drove there. The room is nice and spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is clean, however, the bed and bedding is a little old looking and worn out but it was fine, we only stayed one night. There's a TV in the room so I can fall asleep watching TV, since we went during off peak season and everything closed early and there wasn't much to do at night. The balcony is a plus to look out to when waking up in the morning and see the views, if you have the ocean view room you can look over the side of the high walled balcony and see a little bit of the water from far away. The hotel has a little courtyard in the middle with a lemon/orange tree so it feels like home and relaxing. It's a perfect little place to go for a weekend and to relax. It's a good place for couples too since the rooms are only double beds and the architecture is nice and feels nice. The beach is somewhat near by and you can walk to it for exploration in the day time. The hotel is also close to all the little shops so it's cool to shop and explore/walk around the main strip of the town.

Points négatifs: No parking in the premises. There's no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs, and it depends on which level you're staying in it's going to be a hike for you to bring your stuff up. I stayed on the 2nd level so it was difficult for me with my luggage.

Points positifs: It was just one night stay on our way to Lagos but very enjoyable. Patios da Vila is clean, comfortable, functional and close to town and beaches. We had an apartment on the ground floor with 4 chairs, table and 2 deck chairs. Kitchen is well equipped with kettle, toster and cutlery.

Points positifs: Very helpful about our arriving late. Well-equipped room with kitchen. Bed rather hard. Lovely patio, spacious room, spotlessly clean.

Très bon accueil et personnel aux petits-soins, petit-déjeuner super bon avec des produits locaux comme du fromage frais maison de chèvre. Etant de passage pour une seule nuit le lendemain midi nous avons testé le Restaurante Morais en ville qui propose des bons plats de poissons grillés.

Points positifs: breakfast was good with everything you needed, garden and surroundings are beautiful, it was so quiet, you are a few km away from the next village, so you need a car, but if you want a quiet holiday, its a perfect place

Points positifs: Pefect location just outside the town of Vila Nova but inside a natural park. For those in search of tranquility and nature this is the place to be. Accomodation is very simple but comfortable. Breakfast is good with a vast choice of local food. Also you can enjoy pool and a tennis field.

Points positifs: The location is excellent, close to town and the beach but just far enough from the built up area to be tranquil. The hotel is no frills but comfortable and our room had a big private balcony overlooking the countryside.

Points négatifs: At booking, weeks before the prepayment was deducted, I specifically mention one of the guests had mobility problems. The property has apartments whit bathrooms proper for persons whit special needs, visible from the photos, which were not available and I respect that. However, before charging the stay (one week before check-in, 500+ EUR by the way) the booking staff should had warned the available/assigned apartment bathroom was not proper for person with special needs. Actually, the bathroom was even difficult for people with normal mobility. The bathroom was beautifully decorated but the architect tried to cope all the acessories were there was no space for it. Example 1: not possible to stand or seat at the toilet without previously closing completely the door. Extremely hard for senior, children or difficult mobility guests (and whom has the responsibility to support them) Example 2: the choice for a bathtub, respective location in the bathroom, the bathtub high and particularly the type of curtain/door used made impossible for someone with difficult mobility to get in. Again, it is a legit choice by the owner to use and promote the space has it was, my angriness is just about not had been warned and offered the choice. By the way, before performing the booking (performing, not confirming) eat this location we tried in 3 others in Vila Nova de Milfontes, sending the same message and all of them answered: I'm afraid we can't guarantee we will have a room/apartment with such characteristics so we honestly suggest not to book. Simple, isn't?

Points positifs: Le lieu. Dans un quartier calme tout en étant proche du centre village et des plages (accessibles à pied) . Établissement à taille humaine avec personnel très accueillant (une personne à l’accueil parle le français). Avons apprécié la petite piscine, le patio et le fleurissement et la propreté du lieu.

Points négatifs: Notre lit de 140 (mais c’était précisé dans le descriptif de la chambre à la réservation ) . Pour un court séjour (2 nuits pour nous) ça passe mais si vous souhaitez un lit plus large, soyez vigilant lors de la réservation. D’autres chambres en proposent des plus larges ou des doubles.

Points positifs: Joli Moulin transformé en Auberge. Un très bon accueil, une belle piscine, un beau tennis et de grandes chambres propres avec une terrasse. Que demander de plus? La météo n'était pas excellente mais nous avons pu visitez le village, ses plages, la magnifique embouchure du Rio Mira et faire le lendemain une belle rando sur la "Ruta Vicente".

Points négatifs: Rien sauf peut être une literie un peu ferme pour moi mais appréciez par mon épouse.

Points positifs: Very modern and well kept. The rooms are really great! It is in the middle of nowhere with a pool, which we enjoyed.

Points négatifs: You have to book a dinner 24 hours in advance. So when you arrive, you cant get a dinner that night- which happened to us. We tried to male reservations in all the restaurants that the hotel recommended - all booked out. So we ended up snacking that night. Another option was to go and try to get into a restaurant, but then one of us would bot be able to enjoy a glass of wine due to driving. You cant walk into the city. It is 10 minutes drive.

Points positifs: Nicely tucked away outside of the city. It is a haven of quiet and peace if you want to stay close to nature. The property is very neatly arranged and very charming. Ideal for families on a couple of days stay.

Points négatifs: Offering a larger more elaborate breakfast or readily available eating in options might be ideal for those who want to just stay in and enjoy the wonderful environment.

Points négatifs: Chambre au rdc sur rue à côté de la porte d’entrée donc beaucoup de bruit lors de l’arrivée et du départ des autres occupants. Chambre qui sentait très fort l’humidité et pleine de mites. Dommage car très propre au demeurant.

Points positifs: The room and it's place, close to the old part of the town and the beach.

Points négatifs: Next to your room was the laundery.it was noisy and smelling. A Shame because the service was in top and the room fine and very clean.

Points positifs: Very relaxing area; easy to find parking; super nice staff. At the reception, the girl gave us plenty of info on the local restaurants and a few tips on the main attractions.

Points négatifs: I guess that they forgot to clean our toilet bin due to busy time. Sometimes a bit noisy, as we could hear the neighbours on the stairs and the doors slamming....but this is not the owner's fault.

Points négatifs: La salle de bain très petite et mal nettoyé (cheveux et poils sur le bidet, dans la douche, sur le lavabo) La personne qui nous a accueilli parlait que portugais, pas évident pour communiquer ceci dit on a senti qu'il avait la volonté de bien faire

Points positifs: Nothing ! The place is horrible, shower door broke, mold on the Bathroom walls, there’s a awful sewer smell. Bedroom very small no room to put your luggage. We do not recommend this place to no one.

Points négatifs: The old man at reception was rude and mostly just grunted - after opening our room door he turned and walked away without a word. We were located in another building from the one we booked. We booked a room in Casa dos Arcos but we ended up in the hotel next door! The room was very small, the fridge didn't work, there was no kettle or any facilities other than the shower, toilet and basin and I had to squat in the shower to wash my feet because it was too small to bend over! We certainly won't recommend this accommodation to our family and friends in Australia nor to any else thinking of staying in Milfontes.
