The location is great as it is right across the local pier and only about a hundred metres from the nearest beach. Also, the staff were very friendly and quite helpful when we complained about our room.
Staying at this hotel reminded me of the dark and cold nights Winston Smith had to spend in the underground prison in 1984. The room we stayed in was furnished with two queen-sized beds simply to fill the empty space with something, a bedside table between them, a shelf serving as a TV table and a niche with a crossbar to hang your clothes on. Next to it, there was a little bathroom window that, for all the rust, was nearly impossible to open or close. There was, of course, a normal-size window as well. However, this window 'overlooked' the corridor (probably built after the rooms on that side of the hotel). So during the day we had almost no natural light, and during the night we had plenty from the lights other guests used. Therefore, it is very important that - should you decide to stay at this hotel - you opt for the 'superior double-room with sea view'. Otherwise, you have no view at all. The room, like every other, came with an en-suite bathroom - but not just any bathroom. Tiles on the walls ended at shoulder height, leaving the remaining wall unprotected from water and moisture. Not even the fan installed in the ceiling could help as it was broken. As a result, the paint and even the plaster had peeled off and mould had sprung up. The flooring tiles were shattered in places, which made walking on the slippery wet floor quite an adventure as one had to pay attention not to cut themself. After having a shower when I reached for the towel provided by the hotel, I could not believe my eyes - blood and other stains that the staff had apparently been unable to wash off. The situation with bedsheets was similar. Furthermore, the A/C unit kept dripping on the bed. Having moved it so that I would not get wet, I had to listen to the drops beating against the floor all night. Long story short, for 550,000VND per night, you can find much better accommodation in Con Son and so did we.

Good location, staff was friendly.
Bed was uncomfortable. Room wasn't the cleanest. I just didn't feel comfortable staying there by myself, especially in a foreign country where I could not speak the language.
