Excellent room and right on the beach.
I pretty much liked EVERYTHING, the bed was amazing , the view was beautiful access to the bear and the pier was perfect. ...
Nice oceanfront view. Right on the beach. Loved the tropical sno stand. Kids loved the mini golf. Pools not cleaned enough. Construction going on. They changed full size refrigerator to very small compact one.
Location, ocean front view from the room, room cleanliness. We will be back! Constructions and lots cigarettes buds all over the beach area.
Clean, nice rooms, beds were very comfortable. Easy access parking. Beautiful views. Will definitely go back. No hot tubs. A lot of construction goi going on.
The view from our room was just simply amazing!!! Loved it! And the staff was so friendly and helpful! There was a stain on the comforter, but wasn't a big deal, we didn't even sleep on that bed we wanted to sleep on the one closet to the ocean anyways.
Nothing Paid for a room and didnt get what i paid for
The hotel is right on the ocean. We loved our ocean view with the balcony. The room was also renovated and very clean. The pier was great for sunsets. The toilet was leaking and the sink was hard to get to. The shower was difficult to turn on too.
Was a clean and nice room Staff were horrible.
I liked that they have their own pier. And are right on the beach. The room was nice. Outward appearance of the hotel is not very nice. Elevators smell so do the staircase. Pools are nothing fancy. VERY limited parking
I liked the cleaningness Didn't like that the office checkin was a bit far off, it shows a disconnect btw management and clients. Didn't like that the hotel didn't offer any water spots like jet ski rental or boat rentals. Didn't like the fact that there was no decent restaurant in the facility for breakfast, lunch etc. It meant you needed to leave the hotel often for quick stops which takes the relaxation out of the vacation
Room was clean, comfortable bed. Very nice view from balcony, grounds were well kept. Would liked to have had a hot tub available.
On avait une grande chambre qui donnait sur la mer c'était tranquille On aurait pu donner un peu plus de choix pour le déjeuner continental Son éloignement par rapport aux principaux restaurants
La qualité du personnel et la propreté.
The ocean view was very nice. There were several pools to chose from as well. Location is very good. Within walking distance of main strip. Parking is extremely limited. We had to carry all of our luggage nearly an 1/8 of a mile due to there being no where to park. It also took us over an hour to check in. The line was out the door. It took the staff nearly 20 minutes per guest to check them in. The room are very out dated. Looks like it belongs in 1980.
Great location. Multiple pools were a plus! Staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Parking was kind of a mess. Multiple lots and all very tight.
Room was clean and in a good location with nearby restaurants and attractions. Staff was helpful. Relatively inexpensive considering the proximity to the ocean. Was advertised as "beachfront" room, instead, was located at an alternate building around 100 feet behind their main suites, with no view of the ocean from the room.
It was lovely being right on the water. We had a beautiful view from our room. The resort is split up into 3-4 separate buildings. We were in the north building and not directly connected to the lobby. The lobby was small and a bit uninviting. The parking is a bit of a pain as well. The resort overall looks rundown and old, however, this is not unlike any of the accommodations in the area. Overall, my stay was just okay.
Proximity to the beach. The old style of the hotel. The refrig was not cleaned out.
The setup outside
Very friendly, helpful service Poolside bar ran out of most beer??? What the heck... They should have ran to the nearby liquor store and purchased a few cases. Lame.
Waterfront , clean 3:00 check in
We only stayed here overnight, but the hotel was within walking distance to just about everything we wanted to see. The front desk was very nice, called to ensure the room was ok, and even got us a cab so we could go to the Pirate's Voyage without having to drive. We were really looking forward to hanging out in the pool/hot tub with a few drinks after our early dinner reservations. However, the bar at the pool closed at 6 pm. Sure, there was a bar fairly close by that we eventually ended up at, but we would have preferred to stay on site.
Oceanfront Efficiency with plenty of room for my daughter and myself. Didnt have to drag a cooler around to have food and beverage in the room and even table and chairs to have a sit down meal. Great view of the Ocean in room 1062 from our "livingroom" and balcony. Great place for a winter shopping vacation. Toilet paper and towels were a little thin.
First of all, I would like to make it clear I can only review the section I stayed in, which was the "west tower" it is the smallest tower across the street. Over all the room was OK, it had random furniture kinda crammed wherever they could get it to fit. The kitchenette was nice, stove was older but actually very clean.BTW they expect you to wash whatever dishes you use before checking out. The staff all seemed very nice as well. I can stay I have stayed at much better hotels but I can also say I've stayed at worse. My issue however was the fact that although we parked in designated parking (we even had to fill out information about our car) our 30-day tags including the screws were stolen off of our brand new car. The night it happened I woke up in the middle of the night to a car alarm going off, it wasn't ours and I didn't see anyone so I figured someone must have bumped their keys. I know there was little to nothing Dayton House Resort could have done but they didn't even offer to knock money off of our room price. I'm sick of these myrtle beach hotels having designated parking but taking absolutely no responsibility for anything and Dayton House is one of them. My opinion......stay at your own risk.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. We had an oceanfront standard room with two queen sized beds, and the room was spacious enough for four adults. It was also very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach, while also having the options of the pools, lazy river, and jacuzzis. The grassy picnic area is also a great place enjoy lunch or just sit in the shade while still enjoying a view of the ocean. The location is close enough to all the action of main part of Myrtle Beach, but just down the road a bit to not be crazy. The resort is very family friendly, but our group of ladies enjoyed it on our trip without kids. I would recommend Dayton House to anyone heading to Myrtle Beach! Although some people may be frustrated that the parking is across the street, it seems to be pretty typical for hotels in that area. We never had trouble finding a spot. Also, there is a loading area where you can park when checking in.
Was priced really well considering it's only a 5 minute walk from the beach. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Room wasn't the biggest but was nicely set up. A very easy and relaxing stay with no hassle.
Glad I didn't let existing negative reviews deter me! I had a very comfortable, enjoyable stay here. Room was clean, location very near the beach, shower was legit, the TV was actual HD (not fake stretched like so many hotels), and the internet actually worked! So yeah, not sure how much better it could be for the price. I think the area that was supposed to be vending/ice on my floor was empty. So that was a minor bummer.
The bed was like sleeping on rocks. The overall appearance was dated, the bathroom was very clean. And worst of all the heater would shut off then a hour later would make a loud starting noise run for a couple of minuts then shut down again. This happened all night long
Breakfast was not good. I am diabetic and all you had to eat was a waffle. They didn't even have "no sugar" syrup.
Nice TV This is a "4 star" motel, I would hate to see the Myrtle Beach 2 and 3 star standard. It isn't a bad place but hard to justify 4 stars. The whole city seems old and tired.
Hattie at the front desk was wonderful. She made sure we got all of the toiletries we forgot. Breakfast was really good and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was dimly lit and the shower curtain was kind of gross.
Staff was all friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Sheets didn't fit mattress. Cleaning staff didn't put bags back in garbage can. Refridgator didn't stay shut.
Staff was super nice, location is a block away from the beach. A lot of attractions nearby and food joints. The dogs outnumbered people 10 to 1 in this hotel. Apparently a pet hotel. Dog hair all over the carpets. Hair in the bedsheets and blanket. Furniture needs to be updated. Breakfast was pathetic.
Everyone was very very friendly, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, it was affordable, and it was very close to everything. I didn't really like the breakfast....
staff very friendly, always love the dog friendly aspect of la quinta floor of bathroom had a smear of something... not enough pillows, requested extra, they were all out. bed was a bit firm for my taste. shower water pressure and water temperature was the worst experience. ive never had a more disappointing shower at a hotel
Worst staff on the planet. Went to check in. Idiot behind the desk could not find our reservation. Was not interested in searching for it. She was extremely rude and short with us. Ended up leaving and staying at a best western. Worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. The young lady behind the desk was extremely unprofessional and lacked any skills in customer service. I personally have several years in operations management and if my employees were ever like her, they would be terminated immediately. She even insulted my wife when we called her out for her lack of professionalism. Not sure how this one made it through the interview process.
Clean facility, good breakfast, helpful staff
The place was kept clean and nice. The location of the place was close to the water park, wal-mart and a shopping center. I was very glad to see another way to the beach without going into the heavy traffic. Not much of a gym and the pool could be a bigger.
nice, clean, friendly staff. Make sure you have a car; there is no where to walk. You are right next to a highway. Definitely feels more like a place to stay when you're on a work trip. They should definitely get better internet. Internet was really, really slow. At one point in the middle of the night it stopped working all together. I called to report it and went to bed waiting. They got it working by the time I woke up.
the overall stay. it was like a home away from home location of the pool
Loved location. Shuttle available. Maintenance had to come and change filter for ac. I ook a while to cool the room. Worst part of the trip: dirty coverlet at foot of bed and dirty bolsters had been taken off the bed and put in closet. I like Kingston plantation but I would not stay at the South Hampton again if possible. See above
The villa was great didn't know what it would look like. I didn't like that we couldn't have the pleasure of eating the breakfast and the happy hour at Embassy Suites, but got to enjoy the other perks they offered. I was a little disappointed about that . Was our first time using Kayak.
it was great but the beds was hard and the elevator was very slow and had to go alway downstair to get ice and had to go to the lobby too use my computer and why if u live at the south hampton u cannot go to the north hampton to us the inside pool u have to have a key thats not fair. a few thing the secod bed room have a double bed and it hard and elevators are slow and the ice machine all the way on the first floor and you dont have ice makers and etc......
This property was great. Beach was large, many pools on the property that could be used. Everything was clean, well manicured and inviting. My only negative comment is that you have to be very careful navigating the property. Especially at night it can be very confusing. Make sure to follow the signs very carefully.
that they offered shuttle service to thier spa and pool area and other local businesses that were near the hotel the staff was impolite when asking questions about the room..when asked if there was an open room they seemed a little distracted from me and it appeared that were more concerned with getting people checked in then worry about the problems.. plus they wrote down the wrong room number for me and had to go back into the lobby and get it rechecked which went a little bit more smoothly with a different person assisting me
The location is great. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The accommodations were great and clean. The add on resort fee.
The location and the amenities like the restaurants inside the hotels The villa we rented was outdated, looked old, had a dead water bug when we walked in, wasp nest on our patio, patio was not upkept, I wouldn't stay in the villas again only in the embassy suites on Kingston plantation
Location is great, pools were kept clean room was not very clean, got dirty feet from walking around on the carpet
Ocean view was a decent view of thee ocean. Staff was friendly at Vista 9. Vista 9 was an ok breakfast venue on the 9th floor. There wasnt a lot of choice for thr 9.95 they charged. Houskeeping trys to rush you at check out. They knocked and notified us checkout was @ 11 about 45 min before checkout. They came back 15 min prior to 11, knocked and just walked in to the room even though we werent out yet. Definitely needs an upgrade. Bathroom is tight with the sink toilet and shower in a 6 x 4 area. The room had so much room in it you could have had an extra bed.
The room was big and had a kitchen. It was dirty. I paid for ocean view and got pool view.
The fact that we were on the beach My room, it was old looking(dated) And the beds weren't comfortable at all
Staff and facilities were fantastic! Breakfast and staff were great! Front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful at all times. The Pool area was a mad house on Saturday afternoon. There were a bunch of kids running all over the place, throwing floats from the lazy river to the main indoor pool. Throwing each other in the pool and wrestling. It's amazing that no one was hurt. I have 3 kids so I'm used to noise and playfulness, but this was very dangerous and the adults with these kids were oblivious to how bad their kids were behaving. We left the area a little sooner than planned b/c I didn't want my kids to get hurt.
Walking in to the hotel, we were immediately greeted by Cheryl who did everything possible to make our stay a time to be remembered. She was extremely friendly and helpful. You do pay for a traditional breakfast in the morning.
My wife and I stayed here 4 days, 3 nights while having a walk-through and closing on a new house. We loved the Captain's Quarters and had an ocean front efficiency. The view was spectacular, room amenities very good. The hotel has 15 water features including lazy rivers, pools, hot tubs, [several inside] and a giant pirates ship kids pool with active water features. AND 20 bowling lanes on the 6th floor, plus a bar, pool tables, and arcade games. Also a great breakfast buffet deal at Vista 9 [9th floor] Restaurant. The hotel does show its age a bit but the convenient multi-level covered parking, location, value, and excellent staff more than made up for it. I would stay here again and do recommend it.
a place to sleep did not have a copy of bill for me at end of stay.
it was very nasty and I got my money back. refused to stay there. very disappointed
Location and price wasn't as clean as times past
Friendliness of the staff. Nice clean hotel even though it shows its age. Bowling alley a plus for Parking situation
Location was great and convenient to broadway at the beach. Staff at check-in was very nice and hospitable! Beds were horrible. Ever time you moved even a little you would hear a loud squeaking; I was somewhat concerned that I would end up on the floor after the bed collapsed. Beds were also lumpy and uncomfortable. One of the worst marriott brand hotels I've stayed at.
soft bed and pillows Pubes in my bath area. questionable cleanliness.
Great, comfy beds and pillows. Toiletries provided and of good quality for those of use who always forget shampoo, conditioner, or both. Staff was amazing and felt secure staying there. Wasn't close to any of my destinations.
The room and hotel is nice, very comfortable beds, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming to you. It's a great place to be when r&r is much needed.
That the location was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was also very nice. Only, that when looking to book the reservation it was hard to find king size bed in one room for 2. We ended up with a lakeview & 2 queen beds, and it wasn't necessary, but also not horrible or a inconvenience.
Jennifer memorized my name from the moment she checked me in, so even after five days all I had to do was tell her I was checking out and she took care of it without me having to say anything else. Very fancy hotel with great staff.
Plenty of shops and dining right outside the door.free ample parking is nice.warm afternoon cookies. Lumpy beds, warm water for tea in lobby at mid day.
The staff went the extra mile for our comfort. Very helpful and congenial.
It stated that there where mini fridge, microwaves in the rooms. Then we had other guests knocking at our door asking tp borrow items. Then when I called back to speak to a manager no one ever called me back. Janet Watson from nc.
Literally, not one thing except the location and ample parking. A list will be easier: 1) Waited 25 mins to check in as only 1 employee on duty on saturdays. 2) Wifi may as well have been NON EXISTENT from my room. Did not work at all. 3) My room door lock was broken so that I had to lock it "manually" every time I left the room. 4) Non-smoking room smelled like smoke and cleaning fluid. 5) Dirty, dusty condition of room.
Rooms are very clean. And comfortable. Staff are very nice and ready to accommodate. And they always have fresh coffee. I would reccrecommend Red Roof Inn. There truly wasn't anything at all that i didnt like.
Value, location. Front desk service deal with one person at a time. Took 15 mins. Never acknowledged or greeted, walked out, came back later. No difference. cant locate you in the "system", key didn't work initially, elevator on the fritz...other than that great!
The Inn was clean and the stay very pleasant.
That there is no extra charge for my dog. N/a
Everything was great. Great staff, clean rooms, great location and basic breakfast.
The staff of the hotel was pleasant and helpful. Free coffee in the lobby 24 hrs. The bathrooms were clean, as well as the common areas. The room had a strong mold smell, which made me really uncomfortable. The carpet and the beds were extremely outdated and didn't feel clean. The whole area felt kind of sketchy. The room was right next to the ice machine which made loud noise throughout the entire night. Apparently free advertised breakfast was only seasonal. I expected a little more for the price I paid. It was my second time staying at a Red Roof motel (first time I stayed in their Las Vegas location). Don't think there will be another time.
A nice central location a few blocks from the boardwalk at a good price. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have a mini fridge nor microwave in the room. If you didn't have a room that opened up to the pool area on the ground floor, getting to the pool was an irritating trek around the building.
The bed was comfortable; I didn't see any bugs; and the room was nicely soundproofed. Bathroom was updated nicely. No coffee in the room? Not even a donut in the lobby with the coffee?
Cleanliness, landscaping, staff helpfulness Breakfast, not enough variety
Location was decent. Hotel was under renovation and was extremely dirty. Check in was less than pleasant and the room key would not work. The 4th floor where I stayed smelled like a dirty ashtray. There was no bottled water in the room.
It was in a very convenient location and close to shopping and also restaurants. No
Location and staff Limited dining options
Short cab ride to the beach. I had booked a few days in advance but when I arrived at the hotel, my room was not ready. The woman at the front desk was less than pleasant to deal with as well.
it was very secure and had a beautiful lobby the tiny bathtub
Facility was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and kind. Beds were awesome, so cozy. Nice pool and spa outside. Shuttle to airport very convenient.
The public areas and amenities are fantastic. Definitely the best option (ONLY option) for luxury accommodations in Myrtle Beach. The room was clean, but spartan. It did not match the look of the rest of the facility and definitely needed updating.
We were first timers to Myrtle Beach and since it was a short trip we were wanting to splurge and not drag our camper. We were beyond pleased with the value of this Resort. We had a fantastic Ocean view at a really nice Resort for not much more than the local campsite. I would for sure recommend staying here if you are not into the "Ocean Dr. strip scene" because unlike the hotels there you have privacy. The pillows they were too flat!!
This is what you expect from Marriott. Beautiful Ocean Front Property just steps from the ocean. My adult daughter and I were upgraded to an ocean view room that was fantastic. We enjoyed the Spa here very much. The staff was attentive and helpful. Added fees. Pay close attention to the fine print. There were many additional fees that add up quickly.
Leaving Ditry rooms air conditioning leaked.
Worst overnight experience ever. The room wreaked of marijuana. Everything was filthy. There were pubic hairs on the sheets & mold on the floor. We literally did not want to touch anything. If we hadn't driven 10+ hours & already paid in full we would have slept in the car. Thankfully it was for one night until we could check into our other hotel. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Cheap rate and right on the beach. Staff wasnt that nice. Couldve been more personable or nice.
The room was clean and the cleaning staff was very professional, friendly and courteous The Front Desk staff was short and made me feel like I was bothering them when trying to notify them that our refrigerator was not working properly. We did not get an Ocean Front Room, even though we thought we had booked one. One of the Front desk staff was argumentative regarding this. The room had one Air conditioner unit to cool the efficiency room we stayed in even thoug it was technically 2 separate Bedrooms.
First of all. it is not oceanfront. The entire hotel is sideview of ocean. I could not get a refund. I made reservation for two nights and only was approve refund for one night. I haven't receive my refund as of yet. I should have receive refund for both night, because of false advertising. IT IS NOT OCEANFRONT.
