Generator Rome

It is the second time that I stay in this hostel , unfortunately this time the experience was very unpleasant. The staff at the reception desk is not friendly ,rude and unwelcoming. ( a girl named wana and another tall girl who seems to be responsible.) Maybe you should put someone who knows how to say hello and smile at the counter? In the room, in my bed I found a package of grissini .The bathroom door didn't work so when the other people in the room arrived they opened my door without guilt. In The bathroom had many soap, shampoo for woman already used and towels, even a black dress, probably left by previous guest there were no women in the room only until the night a girl arrived , so the cleanliness is not very good. Overall, very disappointed

I've stayed in Generator Amsterdam, Berlin and London and this was the most spacious dorm! Also, it's a walking distance to the Colosseum! Probs around 15 minutes walk. And from there, you could take a bus to the city center which is near the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain!

The hostel is not close to Rome Termini station as claimed. It's walk-able if you don't have a heavy baggage but I do so I had to take the cab to and fro. I read reviews from other travelers about the location that it was situated in and they were right that it was in a dodgy/sketchy area. I wouldn't dare to go back late as a solo female traveler and even with girlfriends. Also, there was a full length mirror behind my bunk bed which didn't serve any purpose. What a weird place to have it hung! My friend went to tell the ground staff about it and asked whether they could relocate the mirror to a place where we could use it to do our makeup but they said that they couldn't. And there are two tables in the room which is useless as well. The hostel could use it to build a dressing table where female guests could utilise it to do their makeup instead. The bathroom was stinky. The flush for the toilet bowl was a faulty as I hear water dripping throughout my stay there. It's expensive for a hostel stay. It's not worth it and I wouldn't recommend staying here.
