Points négatifs : The pickup and drop off at the airport could have been better explained. Very hard to do when you didn't fly into the airport. No receipt at the end either or anyone else looking at the car to make sure it was all ok still.

Points positifs : The staff was friendly, drop off was very easy.

Points négatifs : The desk agent did not explain very well that the Thrifty cars to choose from were under the Hertz signage, I wasted some time trying to locate the row with the Thrifty cars and there wasn't one for the car type that I rented. Also there was a delay getting out. There was only 1 exit booth open.

Points positifs : Responsive staff, addressed issue with original rented car (see next question)

Points négatifs : The first car we were assigned (it was the only one available in our size) had a terrible stench of cigarettes. We had to go back to the counter and the staff promptly provided a new car, which was an upgrade from our original rental.

Points négatifs : Total cost of the rental was doubled after factoring in gas purchase.

Points négatifs : I picked up the car. Check out was fine. Within 15 minutes of driving the car a dash light came on stay "key battery was low". I stopped at home to pick up luggage. When I returned the car would not start. Dask light said it did not recognize the key. After leaving car and removing back key I was able to get the car started. I called trifty and spoke to a service representative who told me to not shut off the car and return it to the airport rental agency. This is where it became odd. The trifty representative told me he would only be albe to hold a car for an hour after I told him I could make it back to the airport in an hour and 15 minutes. He then had the audacity to tell me I would be required to fill up the care within 10 miles of the rental agency. That is after he told me not to shut off the car. I believe it is considered unwise to fill up an automobile with the car running. I returned to car and subsquently every thing went well. The staff at the MSP airport were pleasant and helpful. I wish I could say the same about the phone service interaction.

Points négatifs : The interior was a bit shabby. At one point we had a low tire indicator light. That had us needing to go to a station for a pressure gauge and then inflate all the tires. This was probably because of the cold temps. However, this should have been done prior.
