Points négatifs : The SUV had roaches in it which was crawling on my baby. My wife was killing them left and right. We would of turned around but we were crunched for time. It took forever to get a car, and i was the only one there. Terrible experience
Points négatifs : Due to Covid-19 my flights were cancelled but despite calling several times never heard back from Advantage. And intend to receive a refund (which is I’m sure why I haven’t heard from them).
Points positifs : Friendly, pretty quick
Points négatifs : Maybe two sets of keys just in case you lock a set in the car. Never happened but a thought. Would have preferred having a fob to lock and unlock
Points négatifs : VERY SLOW pickup process. Each customer is at the counter 10-15 minutes, spending most of the time finding off agressive up-selling attempts - car upgrades, gas options, and mostly insurance add-ons. They hide the option of declining supplemental insurance altogether. Forcing you to choose between three levels. They pepper you with scare tactics. This all takes a lot of time. The car itself, not the model promised. Reserved a Toyota RAV5, got a large SUV. Poorer gas mileage and difficulty parking in resort's small parking spots. Car condition was pretty poor - lots of dings and scratches. Which need to be carefully documented, requiring more time. Car ran fine.
Go with the major rental companies. You'll likely be about to pickup your reserved vehicle with little or no time spent at the counter.
Points négatifs : Did not have SUV and gave us a mini van that we did not like. When we drove to our condo the tire pressure light came on. We then noted a tire with a slow leak that had been pumped up for rental. We called to return the car and the person in duty found and reserved an SUV for us, which was good but we had to pay for the gas to return to airport to return van! As a courtesy, the person also gave us a 90 minute extension to return the vehicle but only noted it in the file, we were charged a $35 overage and had to stand in line at counter to ask someone to read notes and adjust, which was done, but was another hassle.
We were also told it would be best to buy a tank of gas at 3.29 per gallon, but we are not told it came with $30+ of airport taxes which was ridiculous. We had to call and get that changed too. We filled up the tank which was almost empty on the SUV for $40 at Costco vs the $85 you tried to charge us. TAXES on tsnk of gas should be disclosed.
In addition we were renting car from 4pm to 5pm return assuming there was a one hour grace period that is standard. When flight arrived early so we picked up car at 3:30pm, agent charged us for two additional hours without disclosing it. Lots of sneaky things we didn’t notice on contract until we read the print out on way home.
People at Kahului we’re all very nice and fixed all we needed. It’s not them that appear to be wrong, it’s the company.
We will rent from you again but will not take a van, will not take gas, and will look for system sneaking extra hours on the contract.
Points positifs : Car was clean.
Points négatifs : I reserved a "Ford Mustang Convertible or similar model not guaranteed." They had plenty of Mustangs but charged me $350 to "upgrade" to what I literally reserved, a Mustang. Check out was slow as they tried to sell options and there was no one there when I returned the car and although someone appeared, they walked off in another direction.

Points négatifs : Picking up vehicle was VERY slow and time consuming. And I don’t like minivans, we were given. Didn’t want additional coverages but they were part of the deal. Won’t use Advantage again.
Points positifs : Staff was polite. Car drop off was easy.
Points négatifs : Cost was enticing through the website then completely different by the time you left the rental office. “Cost of gas on the island” they listed to attract customers into pre-paying for a full tank with them - the cost was like $.50 more than gas actually was on the island. All the extra costs weren’t clear until I was already signing the contract. Felt like it wasn’t trustworthy b
Points positifs : Drop off was easy and smooth; but check in was awful! Took over half an hour to secure a car; staff was not friendly and attentive at all!!
Points négatifs : 1) Had to wait 45 minutes in line to pick up a car because they only had one agent working during the busiest travel time of the year. 2.) The sound system did not work in the car. 3) Their “premium” line is NOT premium by any means. Very deceptive. 4) very unclear and disorganized return process 5) overcharged bill 6) local agent intentionally hung up on me without resolution
Points positifs : I was somehow scammed into paying for insurance twice, once in the initial booking and a second time on site. The final amount to pay was astronomically higher than initial quote. The staff was persistently rude at the counter and on the site. At return a claim was made that I scratched the car (I certainly did not), pointing to a tiny discoloration that, had I even noticed it during initial inspection I would have ignored.
