Points positifs : Friendly and patient staff.
Points négatifs : Long wait in line
Points positifs : The car and staff was great
Points négatifs : The process of getting and dropping off the car was not easy. Signage for drop off is not clear nor was instructions and there was no attendant to help. The cost was far more than originally anticipated. Not worth the price when you account for fuel and tolls.
Points négatifs : Having a car would have made a big difference. Like the Seinfeld routine, they know how to take the reservation, they just don’t know how to hold the reservation.
Electronic invoice after rental added 5% w/ unauthorized currency exch
Points positifs : friendly staff, quick pick up and drop off
Points négatifs : Final invoice was incorrect. My contract was for 331.75 Euros, not $392.23 USD. After dropping the car, they sent an electronic invoice showing that they applied a conversion rate that hiked the cost of the rental by roughly 5%. They were not authorized to convert to USD. I was not given any invoice in dollars until the electronic invoice appeared after leaving Hertz. I did not agree to any conversion rate.
Slow pick up
Points négatifs : Long line at pick up because agent was spending too much time trying to up sell.
Helpful but kinda felt a over a barrel...
Points positifs : Ended up liking the car we had althought an SUV in Europe is a little large when it comes to finding parking.
Points négatifs : My fault we missed out check in time by a about 3+ hours and were informed only hold car for 2 hours. And said had no cars. Felt offered most expensive car on lot with not a lot of help, kind of take it or leave it. Felt a little held over a barrel. Usually don’t rent from hertz so had no relationship so that may have hurt a little too.
Rental car in Spain.
Points positifs : The car was a Fiat 500 hatchback and was an excellent car, especially for the price. It was a manual transmission so may have been a little less expensive but I enjoyed the driving. If you are not comfortable with a manual, because of the hills and need to squeeze into and out of parking, you may want to get an automatic transmission. The only problem with driving in Spain is the fuel prices are 2x the price in the states and, if you want to get from one city to the next quickly, you need to pay very high tolls. A GPS is a must if you don’t understand the language. The roads are a true maze.
Points négatifs : We bought insurance through kayak. Hertz tried to pressure us into buying through them for a significant amount of miney
Great Rental Experience
Points positifs : The car was nicer than expected and the drop off was a breeze.
Points négatifs : We had to wait a while to pick up a car since they were not ready for us even though I had a reservation.
hard to find
Points positifs : No problem with the return
Points négatifs : Poor signage and invisible personnel.
Experience in Seville good; ultimate price was too high
Points positifs : The car was excellent, and we opted for the GPS which was very helpful. The people in Seville at Hertz were great, very helpful.
Points négatifs : The drop off in Madrid was difficult and not very well explained. It took a while to find it and figure it out. Our biggest complaint was the price. It was a bit of a bait and switch, with the quoted price of $288 ballooning to nearly $700 when we dropped off the car after only 4 days.
