9,6 Excellent
Points positifs: Felt like the hotel stuff though about every little detail. From the coffee machine and beans in the room to the ice pop outside the onsen. The private onsen was the reason we went there, and it was great.
Points négatifs: The meals were very expensive and there is no food options near the hotel (only 35 minutes drive)
9,6 Excellent
Points positifs: Deep powder snow that kids love. Snowflakes falling into hot chocolate, anyone?
Points négatifs: We were there when it first opened and now the family onsen rooms look a bit tired. The main baths are still awesome.
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: The location is 10 mins walk from cablecar otherwise it’s an hours drive to the nearest towns. We hiked mount Asahidake (8hrs circular trail) which was amazing and really enjoyed the Onsen at the hotel afterwards
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Location , onzen, room, bf, dinner, environment, everything, they upgrade us from twin room with extra bed to triple room, staff are very nice.
Points négatifs: No extra pillow in room, only one for each person, may be because we sray on weekend. Internet a bit intermittently, staff speak little english but understanding.
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: The whole place is so relaxing and lovely! Onsen areas are amazing, the food is excellent, and location next to Mt Asahi ropeway was perfect for hiking. Bed was super comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Points négatifs: We didn’t have dinner first evening as when we arrived at 6pm it was too late to book it. Luckily we had some crisps and other snacks left after our long journey there so had no problem to wait until the late night ramen was served (this was at 10.30pm and it’s free for everyone). There are no shops or restaurants around - the location is very quiet (which we loved!).
9,6 Excellent
Points positifs: Great staff, and great place to rest after hike to Asahidake volcano. We had a nice room with tea and everything. You can also go to Onsen and our biggest surprise was the free midnight ramen. After getting all soaked wet and cold on the top of the volcano this was real pleasure since we couldn't find any place to eat on our way here. The breakfast was also really rich and amazing. The ropeway to Asahidake trailhead is literally like 10 minutes of walking from the hotel.
Points négatifs: We had to wait like 20 minutes for a breakfast because the hotel restaurant was full. It wasn't very serious problem for us, but in case there is a lot of guests it is something you should be aware of.
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Comfortable room with a great view towards Mt. Asahidake, tasty food and tasty tap water. Excellent onsen-facilities. The bus stop is very close to the hotel.

8,3 Excellent
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: location excellent, dinner and breakfast included excellent, common area with fire great for meeting people I have been returning every winter for the last 11 years ,
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Excellent access to Ropetow. Great Onsen. Great buffet.
Points négatifs: Not all Westerners need a crumbed piece of meat each night as a special treat. Maybe some help selecting a Japanese meal would be preferable. Also some expresso coffee would be an excellent addition. Say a lobby cafe?
9,6 Excellent
8,8 Excellent
Points positifs: We were extremely impressed by the incredible variety of high quality food at the buffet for both breakfast and dinner. The service in the restaurant was impeccable with assistance with using the Japanese cooker on the table to prepare a seafood soup of your own choosing. The building had a lovely old fashioned but stately feel in it's architecture and furnishings. The location next to both the Tourist Centre and ropeway was great.
Points négatifs: The mattresses in the Western room were much too hard for me. I requested an extra quilt to place underneath but was offered only a pile of towels that didn't help. Restless uncomfortable nights' sleep took the shine off an otherwise perfect location in beautiful snow.
8,8 Excellent
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Closest Accomadation to the ropeway, great Onsen, lots of variety in the buffet meals.
8,8 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Excellent value for money, very oliging staff, close to Mt Asahidake
8,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Great food, and nice Hotel. No outdoor onsen but possible to get access to an other bigger onsen in the area for free if you ask for it in the reception.
Points négatifs: As at many other Japanese hotels is the English knowledge level very low. The distance to the ropeway, possible to walk but it take 15 min !!
8,3 Excellent
Points positifs: The interior layout and decor are good and very relaxing. I enjoyed the common and music Hall.....really feel like home . The location is good near to most of the interesting places around here. Not so crowded as in Bear Monte. ..
Points négatifs: It could be hot in the summer in the morning and afternoon .. night time it will get cooler and can sleep comfortably ..with a thin blanket. However, as the window was opened, the noise ( generator or fans) was very loud and irritating.. so if you are a light sleeper ..bring along your ear plug.
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: This was the best hotel I stayed at in 7 weeks in Japan. My room was large and comfortable with a snowy view. There are two comfortable and well presented lounges. Dinner was 6 courses and delicious. Breakfast was very generous. Service impeccable. And there's a lovely indoors hot spring onsen. Would love to return.
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Nice location with very friendly staff. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner.
6,3 Bien
Points positifs: The room was spacious but the furniture style a bit boring, not unusual for this size of onsen place. The bathroom was nice as promised. The maids serving the dinner were very friendly.
Points négatifs: The bad...the cuisine was boring similar to the room furniture. The sheer number of courses couldn’t hide, that the food was substandard compared to other Japanese hotels. On top of that i got nearly the same for breakfast and dinner twice. So when i saw that coming the second time you can understand my disappointment, as i hoped for an improvement. Completely unacceptable was the insolent behavior of the receptionist. When i came for breakfast at 8:03am she scolded me in front of the other guests, with no good morning and a fiendish look. On top of that, the next morning a Japanese couple came around 8:10am and she was sweet as honey to them. I know Japanese hospitality is so much better. That’s more what I would expect in my own country.
9,2 Excellent

8,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Hot springs are wonderful. There are different kinds of hot springs. The outdoor one has the most flavour!!! Delicious and exquisite meal!!!
Points négatifs: The warm air machine in the room works a little loud
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: We stayed here for a night and had the best time. We caught the bus from Asahikawa station and it dropped us right in front of the driveway. The staff was the best (they patiently explained to us the onsen situation and the dining hours, they drove us to the ski resort in the van, and even dropped us at a nearby hotel). The onsens are top notch. There is one very old one with amazing boulders and ferns and moss growing on them. It was visited by the emperor in the 70s, I believe. The tubs are made with big wooden beams and there are some that are very hot and some that are medium. There’s another more recently-built onsen with a similar overall vibe, just newer. There’s an outdoor bath in this one. Both were amazing. The highlight of the stay is the dinner. After soaking in the onsen, we wore our yukatas to the dining hall where we are a perfectly orchestrated set course. Highlights included scallop egg custards, abalone wrapped in seaweed and cooked in a salt block, spring water jelly with black honey, grain rice with pumpkin, and coffee pudding, along with staples like shabushabu and sashimi. We enjoyed everything and left very full. The rooms are comfortable and clean and plenty warm. One of the most comfortable futons I’ve slept on. Everything about our stay was incredible and we will be going back. Special thanks to both of the front desk people who helped us with a lift to a nearby hotel.
9,6 Excellent
Points positifs: A very Japanese experience in a hotel with a famous hot spring. The location was great: at the foot of Asahi Take which is a splendid volcanic mountain which we went up and did a magnificent circuit through volcanic landscape and steaming fumerolles. Food (entirely Japanese) was absolutely gourmet - about 8 tiny delicate well-presented courses. There were set menus (so no choice) and after three days they repeat. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of choice. The onsen was very special with outside and inside parts. Most guests wore yukuta (kimonos provided by the hotel) to meals and round the hotel. We had a Japanese speaker with us and while it would have been perfectly possible without, it was nice to be able to translate what we were eating. We had western style bedrooms.
Points négatifs: The coffee
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: The beds were very comfortable and there was a massage chair in our room!
Points négatifs: Nothing really!

Points positifs: This hotel is very conveniently located right next to the JR train station. The small rooms were very clean and we liked that the hotel was connected to the Aeon Mall, which was very nice. One very nice added feature was the pillow corner where you could choose your own pillow from a wide variety. They also gave you extra clean pillow cases. We liked the laundry area and their combination washing machine/dryer.
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Location: adjacent to train station and in the same building with a major shopping center, it was a great location as it was central, which we wanted, for us to drive to several ski locations Room: clean, new, functional. A bit small but not bad Facilities: lacks a ski dry room (they held on to our skis in their storage area) but other than that, good public bath, lounge area and lobby
Points négatifs: size of room and lacks a ski dry room
7,5 Bien
10,0 Excellent
Points positifs: We had a high floor and had a great city view. We could catch a direct bus from just below hotel at the bus terminal to Asahikawa Zoo and also catch the free shuttle bus to onsen hotel in Sounkyu. Highly recommended for its clean rooms. Public bath is a big plus for a hot bath. Room came with separate shower and toilet.
Points négatifs: Quality of buffet breakfast could be improved or better
9,0 Excellent
Points positifs: Excellent location, comfortable bedding
Points négatifs: Bed a bit small

Points positifs: The hotel was affordable, had everything we needed and located near to the JR station. Overall stay was comfortable. The staff were friendly and polite. There is a microwave and a vending machine for common use at each level.

Points positifs: Convenience as it is close to the jr station where there are malls where you can do your shopping.

Points négatifs: Compared to newer (e.g. Richmond Sendai (https://richmondhotel.jp/en/sendai/) hotel (this the 6th hotel in our 13-hotel 2020 Winter (Jan-Feb) Trip to Japan, it looks a bit tired. Upside is the room is very spacious. You can actually sit down have a have a beer and a conversation!

Points positifs: Good service, good location, close to the city center, good service from the employees.

Points négatifs: You have to pay to use the baths in the spa and the man at reception was extremely unfriendly

Points positifs: We got a high floor and the view is great. The food and service in the restaurant for breakfast is decent and quite a lot for a meal.
Points négatifs: The staff spoke little English and were unable to communicate well to assist me when I was enquiring about cancelled train routes out of Asahikawa due to heavy snow. Just saying "I don't know" to a customer stuck in limbo is extremely frustrating.

Points positifs: Location is near JR station.
Points négatifs: The room is old and run down and the mattress is too soft.
6,7 Bien
Points positifs: •Good wifi coverage, high floor has good view.
Points négatifs: •room is too stuffy and hot even with just level 1 setting of heater knob. We cannot adjust as it is centralised. Windows can’t open any tiny gap as we are on high floor. We had to open the toilet door which has an exhaust fan to cool the room and switch off the heater. Then in the middle of the night it became cold. •Chargeable car park usage but not many car park lots for hotel guests. One evening we just managed to get the last parallel lot, a huge MPV blocked the inner part of an empty car park space.
5,4 Correct
Points positifs: The price is cheap for a room for 4.
Points négatifs: It was a non-smoking room but they still put ash trays in it which showed it is not a non-smoking room. Generally the room is a bit dark. And as they squeeze 4 beds into one room, there was hardly space for luggage. it is not near the station but as we were driving it didn't matter to us. They did not have a drive in area for us to drop us and the luggage off, we had to park nearby and then tow our luggage in. But with the low prices they offer you can't expect too much. We were only staying for the night(sort of stop over rest) so I would still consider it a good deal but if you are not driving, I would suggest a hotel nearer to the station.
7,5 Bien
Points négatifs: Staff was not quite good in communication in English.

Points négatifs: Bathroom and the Airpot. Disappointing
