Points positifs : The staff at Hertz Rental Car were helpful & friendly. The car was comfortable & was the best price out there. The office was in a location that was easy to get to.
Points négatifs : The Hertz location that I went to did not accept debit cards. It would have made my experience much better if I had been informed of that ahead of time as I had to go back home to get my credit card. Even better, I thought they did not have a viable reason for not accepting debit cards in the first place.
Points positifs : I love having a Hertz so close to home. Not a good choice if you're renting from the airport but for Camberville people, this is a great option!

Points négatifs : The reservation was made for 6pm at a location which closes at 6pm meaning there was no way they could give me a car.
Points négatifs : The car was kind of older and run down. I had to drive 500 miles in two days and it was nerve racking because the car felt like it was about to break down.

No one to contact on Saturday???
Points négatifs : I didn't understand how the electronic tolling worked and not only did the location that I rented from not have a number listed anywhere, the number for it that I did found was a national number that had NO customer service people available on a Saturday. How can you not have anyone available on a Saturday!
Points négatifs : We were told the car we had reserved was not available, so we were being upgraded. Instead, we later learned, we were given a mid-size that needed an oil change. The car engine was extremely loud and the back of the vehicle shook badly at any speed over 50MPH, and two days into our 9-day rental, the tire light came on. We tried to put air in the tires, but one was damaged and could not be filled. When we called Hertz, we were told to either get an oil change ourselves for reimbursement, or to drive two hours back to the nearest airport for an exchange. After four days trying to negotiate an exchange with a local Hertz location, we were finally able to swap it out and focus again on enjoying our vacation. Hertz did nothing to assist us despite providing a defective vehicle, nor did they offer to compensate us for the rental in any way. There are lots of good rental companies out there - use any other!

Points négatifs : We had 6 people - 4 adults, 2 kids (both in car seats, basically giving them the "footprint" of obese adults). When I arrived, I was told that there were "no minivans anywhere in the Boston area." We had stuff on our laps, under seats, anywhere we could cram it. My rate was not adjusted. I was simply told I could return the car with the gas tank "on fumes." BFD - like a $20 fill up avoided for a week of severe discomfort. If I can't be assured of the car I rent, why should I use Kayak or Hertz?
