After I drove 30 miles, I see the maintenance required sign.
I had to drive from Columbus(OH) to Providence(RI).
Called the customer, to report and they said another car will be ready at Cleveland airport. But they refused for an exchange. After wasting 2-3 hours - explaining about the situation, I had to reserve another car at Cleveland and take it from there on .

Points négatifs : They wouldn't accept debit cards just credit cards. Would have liked to have known this before I drove all the way to the airport. Not gonna be a slave to the credit card companies to rent a car. You deserve to have them stolen.
Points positifs : Drop off was, Pull up unload and get going. Very easy
Points négatifs : Have insurance policy collected prior to arrival would be great. I could not find mine and it was frustrating. It was my fault thinking it would be ok to just use company insurance.
Points négatifs : I didn't know I had to have a credit card in order to rent. The lady was very impractical and not understanding that I didn't know I needed a credit card. She said it's on their website but the reservation said no where I was required to pay with a credit card.
Points positifs : Car was dirty, got a flat tire. Service was pathetic
Points négatifs : Getting Hertz to work the issue and refund our costs dealing with their broken car was like pulling teeth. Not worth it, I'll rent elsewhere from now on
Points négatifs : We were charged $254.85 and it was supposed to be $102. I noticed the charge on my credit card but thought maybe it was a “hold”. Now reviewing my credit card I see that we were more than double charged.
Points positifs : We don’t have anything to say about liking because when we got there the car was not ready and they did not honor our card. We had to go an book with another company outside of Hertz. It took us over an hour to get this straightened out.

Points négatifs : The trunk was a little small or an odd shape. Also the car started ok, but starting sounded a little painful
Points positifs : Encounters with Hertz staff were very uneven. Kudos to the folks at the Dublin office (renting cars out of a car dealership location). Airport encounter was very disappointing.
Points négatifs : My main issue was not with Hertz but with the KAYAK system. Though I have years of extensive travel, this was the first time I remember using KAYAK. I have never had an issue before when the advance booking I made was not at the airport (or adjacent to the airport) location. KAYAK gave me a great rate, but 20 miles away. I spent $40 to get over to the rental car location. The airport staff at Hertz was not helpful....sure we can honor your reservation at this location. The daily rental price would not be $35 a day but $75 a day. I don't have time to go back and dig through the ways this reservation got off-track, but I don't think I'll use KAYAK again.

Points négatifs : The car wasn’t as clean as it could have been. There were dead bugs in the back windshield and fingerprints all over the back window.
