Points positifs : The GM, who was opening the counter when I rented, was fun, professional, and kind. She was helping the crew get cars checked in while also handling reservations. She was great and the entire rental experience was pleasant
Points positifs : Car was perfect. However the Desk service was horrible.
Points négatifs : Surprised last minute with request for insurance. Also, the tolls offering was not made clear - they used scare tactics to sell. So overpriced and for me a HUGE waste of money. I travel frequently but will not rent from advantage again.

Points négatifs : When I showed up at the Advantage counter they had already closed for the night. I had a reservation at a specific time and I was there early so it wasn't my fault. Whoever was supposed to be there had obviously left. So I was stranded for a while at the DFW rental center at 10pm at night. Luckily I found another service that was opened at was able to get a car but without that one place
Points positifs : Book it now was listed at $355 for 6 days. With hidden fees and up charges the total came to 865.75!
Ridiculous. 2 months of standard car payments for 6 days use.
Points négatifs : Kayak should remove advantage rent a car from populating on results.
Points négatifs : was not aware that renting the car I could not drive into Arkansas. Since I was renting the car to work in Texarkana, a city that strattles the state line there was a good chance I would end up on the Arkansas Side of the city. was told could be up to $5000 fine. cancelled rental!
Points négatifs : Checked in and the person was not at the desk, once they finally returned after calling them it appeared the price continued to go up at every moment. Car seats were quoted as $9.99 per day, was actually $12.99, was told I need to pick and insurance plan, not that I could use my own insurance (tried to get more money out of me). Finally got the car and opened up the trunk to see it hadn’t been cleaned. Only upside was that they decided to upgrade us for free but didn’t feel like much of an upgrade. Advantage needs to work harder at giving its customers more perks and bigger bang for their buck to compete against industry giants otherwise they will be a one and done kind of service, which is what my decision is.
Points positifs : Staff was not very knowledgeable. Fees are outrageous ($12.00 license plate fee is ridiculous).

Points négatifs : I reserved a full sized sedan, Toyota Camry or similar. When I arrived I was asked if a minivan would be okay. I said I would like the vehicle type I had reserved. Was told they didn't have anything like that. I said I would not accept the minivan as a replacement and said they could cancel the reservation and I would go somewhere else. I was then suddenly offered a Mitsubishi Mirage, economy car or compact (not sure what category). They charged me the full sized sedan rate for the vehicle they rented to me despite it being 1 to 2 sizes below what I had reserved. When I went out to the lot to get my vehicle, I noticed there were only 3 cars on the lot for Advantage Car Rental so I'm not sure what they were going to do as there were 4 customers waiting behind me. I will not be using Advantage Car Rental for future car rentals and would recommend sticking to the more well known car rental companies.

Points positifs : The car was nice and a good value. Drop off was easy.
Points négatifs : There is no easy way to contact Advantage when a flight is delayed. We were told that we had lost our reservation because of a delayed flight. (It was then corrected.) Only one person was working the counter. Costs were not revealed up front (Extra Driver, fuel options, insurance.) The inside of the windshield was smeared making it difficult to see.
Points négatifs : Be sure to check the vehicle for damage. I was given an inspection report without them walking around the vehicle with me and it stated “no damage”. When I went out to the vehicle, it had a new existing dent on the passenger side front wheel well area. I had to go back in and have the employee come back out to show it to them so it was documented prior to my departure so I wouldn’t get blamed for it.
Points positifs : There were a lot of extra charges like for Texpress. They also keep a $250 hold on the credit card. There was a dent in the door we were not told about. The car smelled of cigarette smoke.
Points négatifs : There should be someone to check the car in. Leaving the keys on the counter, or in the car, is not customer service.
