Points négatifs : "I had a carry-on sized bag which would have fit in the overhead compartment. I was told that it would not fit the Swiss Air compartment, thus was forced to check it at the gate. I expressed my concern that it would get lost (thus the reason I never opt to check bags) and was assured "They are very efficient in Zurich." When we arrived in Madrid, my bag was not at the carousel. I was told at Customer Service that it was on another flight, but that they could deliver it to my Airbnb between 4-7 pm. I had to wait there instead of enjoying my vacation to wait for my bag. The bag did not arrive until 10:30 pm. I did not have my clothes or belongings with me all day. Swiss Air in particular needs to update their overhead compartment regulations, as my bag definitely would have fit there, and could have avoided this entire situations."

Points positifs : "The plane we were on between Zurich and Copenhagen was comfortable and modern for such a short trip. This was a stark contrast to the old SAS airplane we flew in the opposite direction as a Swiss flight. The staff on the plane were friendly and helpful."

We tried to hold this flight (the return flight that we had paid for in our round trip ticket) but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that they had sold our seats. We had to pay $250 USD to fly standby (and "reissue" the tickets that we had already paid for) on a flight that was oversold by at least 6, and we heard other passengers also being told their tickets were sold. Their customer service for the ticket change and the phone calls made before hand where they promised to hold our tickets, were so disappointing, it was like dealing with any US based airline. We won't be flying with them again."

Points positifs : "I bought a ticket for three persons: my wife, my daughtet and me. I am Nigerian, my daughter American, and my wife's Turkish. However, because of the diplomatic row between Turkey and the U.S., my daughter was refused entry into Turkey. Turkish airlines' policy was to refund the ticket of any American caught in this row. They said they will refund my one month old daughter's ticket. However, my wife and i will not receive a refund. We bought the three tickets together. Our ticket numbers ended in 235...51, 235...52, and 235...53. However, they will not refund our whole money by cancelling the ticket but only that of my daughter. So this is the question: Does Turkish airline want me to leave my one-month old baby in the U.S. and tavel with my wife to Turkey? What kind of parents will we be if we were to abandon our daughter to take a trip to Turkey. Even, the people in Turkish airlines will judge us evil parents, yet that was exactly the only option they gave us. Lose your daughter or lose your ticket money. They will not even just change our iternary or give us another destination we suggested without penalties which are almost 3/4 of our initial ticket price. They just made away with our money. You cannot say, 'We are cancelling tickets for American citizens' but make no exception for parents of infant citizens. This is the height of criminality. So, me and my family couldn't take the flight and lost $1500. We had to buy another ticket by airfloat to get to Georgia. But Turkish airlines refused to even contact us on the refund for my daughter. A truly criminal enterprise."

In the day before the flight their on-line computer system did not recognize my ticket number all though it has for the previous three legs of the ticket. When I arrive at the airport I was told the flight was over booked and giving a stand by boarding card. There were about 15 of us with stand by. Only two were denied boarding. Although they did not say so it was clear it was because it was a Kayak reservation. It took 3 1/2 hours in Istanbul airport to get a boarding pass on the next flight. I spoke to eight Turkish Airway representatives. None of them were helpful. Each shifted me to another office elsewhere in the airport without giving me clear direction. Apparently the issue was that they did not want o pay compensation although I never asked for this. In the final office back outside passport control I said I was looking for a boarding pass not compensation.. They gave me on on the 6:10 pm flight and had me sign a statement that I had received 600 Euros in compensation. When I arrive at JFK, my bag was not on the flight. They say they will deliver it today."

On the other hand, having a pleasant and respectful flight crew can make a tremendous difference in the passengers experience. We were lucky enough to have a flight attendant named Gulhan Who smiled the entire flight. She was professional, courteous, and service oriented. Most of the flight crew showed similar professionalism. Turkish Airlines had for better service then any of the American or European airlines I have encountered during the last 10 years."

Our connecting flight was booked incorrectly do we had to spend the night in Frankfurt. Our 13 hour flight took 29 hours. The food was awful."

And the plane was old generation 747 and the entertainment was same vintage: screen was not very bright and the selection of films was poor. No plug to charge electronics. We were disappointed with KLM when comparing with other airline companies offerings when you book in Premium Economy."
