We had to stand in a security line for two hours thinking that we had as a consequence missed our connecting flight. Again, no communication. We found out when we finally got through security (we had already gone through security at the Paris airport), everyone was in the same situation and our flight had been delayed. It would have been helpful to know that as we were standing in line. While in the line, many people panicked and starting pushing their way to the front of the line. Again, no officials were there to keep order. It was truly a mess! And creating too much anxiety and stress that I really wanted to not have on my trip back to the USA. I realize that in these times, we must go through added security, but I am accustomed to US airports where there is more communication over the intercom and by airport officials. In Istanbul, it seemed that everyone did not want to give directions, and airport officials seemed to avoid the public they were there to serve."

I got it more than once, it's always dry grilled chicken, steamed veggies and plain rice. Overall it's a dry meal and no flavorful at all. On this trip I didn't order a special as I was hoping one of the options wouldn't have lactose."

They yell at you or just simply ignore you. No legroom. The crew did not mention that are flight was delayed prior or that we missed our connecting flight and what to do from there. I was given a hotel room during my layover but its in a scary neighborhood and it smells like sewage is nearby. The Grand Yavaz. The cheaper price is not worth the hassle. I can spend my good money elsewhere...i will be sure to warn others."

They provided hotel but it took 3 hours for us to clear immigration and reached hotel and after 1 hours they came to pick us back. there was no support from airlines staff and we were at won. Hotel was just waste because we just use for one hour in 12 hours delay."

Anyone who didn't checkin online was left at the airport- even those who booked, paid in full, and confirmed in person at the Kenya Airways office the day before. And we were all at the airport hours early. The ground staff in Arusha had no idea how to check people into the flight. They lied to us about what was happening and wouldn't update us about how they overbooked. They tried to email the main office and refused to just call them on the phone. I only got on the flight because I ignored their suggestion to 'just go sit down and let them work it out'. For people who did what they were told- they all missed the flight. I did online checkin on my phone and then all of a sudden there was a seat for me on the plane and I got on. Everyone else was left at the airport with no idea what was happening. I normally love Kenya Airways, but this level of overbooking and incompetent ground staff made me change my mind."

Finally, the airport in Nairobi is dangerous when early morning planes arrive. Arriving passengers who are in transit are ushered down an escalator where they are pushed into one another because of a security line backup...yet the escalator just keeps bringing more people. This happened to us in Nairobi in the early morning of July 26 and again in the early morning of August 2. I feared someone would be trampled or hurt."

Points négatifs : "We only had 30 minutes to catch this connecting flight due to our incredibly delayed PrecisionAir flight. We got to the service desk to get our boarding passes and there was only one person to service a multitude of people. Of course they knew that a flight was coming in, why there was only one personnel is still a mystery to me. The person who served us, Victor K., was probably the least helpful customer service personnel I've come across. He was very slow, considering that he knows there's a lot of us trying to get to our next flight. We ended up missing our connecting flight. And for some reason, the plane left earlier than the time it was supposed to leave. Another mystery to me. Shouldn't their system have told them that there were a few passengers on the previous flight that was supposed to board this connecting flight?! They did give us a free hotel for the night, or so they call a hotel. The food served was just horrendous. They just served whatever is enough to be considered "food". I will never fly with Kenya airways ever again. They are so unreliable, irresponsible, and have very little regard to customer service."

Points négatifs : "The airport staff sucked!! VERY RUDE! Acted annoyed when I asked how long the flight delay was or for directions to the next gate. I know I am an American and used to different services. When a foreigner asks me for guidance, I go out of my way to help. When out of your element, rude staff just add to the stress of being delayed! I hate Kenya Airport staff!!!"

Points négatifs : "Notorious for flight delays! How can you cancel an entire flight the day before?! Horrible! The delays are very annoying! Kenya Airways you're fired! Kayak, you guys should remove their crappy service from your options!! I only found out about the delay from their online service. The actual people suck! And do not even try to get through on their customer service line!"

Points positifs : "Business passengers still served snacks even with such a short flight. Great view of Mount Kilimanjaro"

Points positifs : "KQ is one of the few I like among African airliners for its streamlined system and staff's friendliness. This time i took note of a young male CA called Tonny who was very smiley all along, demonstrated care towards all passengers, and seemed to enjoy his work genuinely - which is sadly hard to experience with other global airliners. The staff are well-trained, unlike ET, interacting with passengers on an Raul footing, and it was a pleasant journey this time as well."
Points négatifs : "I am not quite sure if the staff checking passengers in for the flight in EBB were KQ employees, but with that reservation, I was quite disappointed to learn hat KQ does not provide accommodation for 11-hour transit in Nairobi and make its clients stay inside the airport. I almost assumed that the overnight accommodation is given for such a long layover, but nooo! Even when I asked the checkin lady at the alone counter desk at EBB return modestly, "Do you by any chance provide a hotel room for me for the long transit?" She had the guts to say a straight no without a smile or looking into my eyes. I eventually booked a hotel room on my own which cost me nearly $100. I thought that was ridiculous service modality for a major African airliner."

Points négatifs : "rude and dismissive ground crew. delayed flight. and when we got to Nairobi we discovered that several items had been stolennout of our checked luggage."

Points positifs : "The service was great. From the time I boarded I was treated very well. The staff was friendly and it made traveling an ease."

Points négatifs : "I was wrongly suspected of something in the security check at Kigali Int'l Airport and further screening stole my time to the point that I missed my flight! When I went to a Kenya Airway agent for assistance, I was advised to buy a new air ticket or pay a fee to have my flight changed, which I did and my flight was scheduled for the following day. The following day, the flight was delayed almost for two hours in Kigali and then 1.5 hours in Nairobi. Don't fly Kenya Airway! Their customer care service are terrible, their disability services very poor. Avoid this airline , please!"

Points positifs : "All 4 of us were upgraded to business class on this 5 hour flight on the KQ Dreamliner 787. Very good seat, service and pre departure lounge in NBO."

Points positifs : "Always treated with respect, economy seats were comfortable. Attendants always managed to accommodate. In the morning, i asked for a diet coke and she said, I just have juices and water. So I changed my order. Then when she got a chance brought me a can of diet coke with ice. So nice!! I'll definitely fly with Kenya Airways again."
Points négatifs : "IN Bangkok while waiting to board the flight, the gate attendants stopped making announcements and just held up cards. I was trying to follow instructions and not crowd the gate and missed my time to board. It's totally a minor thing but at the end of the trip at 1am it was just frustrating."
