The airline promised overnight stay and transportation. When we got into Istanbul airport after 11:00pm as scheduled, there was no support from the airline. Different airline staff provided different answers. Very confusing. The on-site transfer desk support was unfriendly and not helpful. 2. Tight seat configurations for international flights. For our 13-hour flights, the seats were not comfortable."

It took an extra 20 minutes for me to board the plane because of this and when I arrived to my seat an Arab woman was sitting in my place and refused to move to the middle seat. She said she could not and would not sit next to a man who was sitting on the other side. If this is a problem from the start, there should be a way to choose a seat according to gender. The stewardess found me another place in front of this woman who kicked my seat the whole way. She even argued with the stewardess about putting her suitcase above her in the rack and security was almost called. There should be something included in the flight information program about being polite to other passengers."
Points positifs : "Everything from the greeting received upon entering the plane to the overall service for the entire flight was quite excellent and wonderful. A really nice perk was the kit given to all the passengers in economy class with slippers, toothpaste, toothbrush, lip cream, and eye mask - no airline does this anymore and it is to be commended. The food on both legs of my flight (New York to Istanbul to Nice and the return) was actually very good -- this was the second time I've flown on Turkish Airlines and I look forward to flying again."

It took 2 hours before anyone would actually help me to organize my next flight to Milan. By the time I arrived in Milan, my family had left worried sick not knowing what happened to me. I then had to find a bus to take me to Lugano, another 25 Euros, and not to mention all the stress to me and my family. I then decided not to put myself through the same situation on my way back to Tel Aviv and purchased new ticket with another Airline company. Overall, the whole experience was a nightmare."

Points positifs : "I had the pleasure of traveling business on Turkish to India -cheap fuel meant inexpensive business class tickets :-) and I have to say the food and comfort was top notch. The soups and meat appetizers were outstanding, I've always preferred a 3 hour layover in Europe when India bound and I found the Turkish Lounge in Istanbul surpassed any expectation I had. It had a mini-movie theatre, a shower and sauna, a whiskey bar, bright coffee and the choiciest Turkish sweets. The library of rare books of Turkish art and construction was a treat. The flight itself was comfortable - nice bed - and uneventful."
Points négatifs : "My connecting flight was cancelled twice then delayed. I ended up missing my connection in Istanbul and having to overnight there. Turkish Airlines did provide hotel accommodation to passengers in similar situation, however only after wondering around the airport for over an hour to find the TK hotel desk and waiting for an additional hour to be assigned a hotel room and be transferred there, only to learn that I had to check out within two and a half hours after checking in to be at the airport 4 hours before the flight departs. When I finally arrived at the airport, I had to go through a security screening (because I was not suspicious for having entered the country and exiting only 5 hours later). When all of that was done, I approach the check in desk and asked if my seat can be changed, as I had spent the previous 2 days trying to get on my connecting flight, spending over 8 continuous hours at an airport and having had a nightmare night. I asked for an exit row seat or anything in the front of the plane. I was literal told that if I did not like the seat given I did not have to fly. I took the seat originally assigned and spent 11 and a half hours sitting next to a toilette on the airplane with a crying baby next to me and in front of me. To top it all, it took 2 hours to get my luggage once arrived at JFK. I usually love traveling on Turkish airlines and I understand not all of the above is directly depending on them, but considering how awful the entire experience was and how little I asked to be happy, I found them to be extremely unaccommodating on this occasion."

The serving of the food was a nightmare.... the food was served in sections. the hot plate first ... 5 minutes later... the hot bread... then yet another 5 minutes later... the drink. No water to be had. Was in the air for a full 5 hours before they brought the cart around for water/refreshments. Horrible."

At first, they weren't going to accept our three checked bags since BA only allows 1 pp while TA allows 2. The worst part was that we had picked out window seats for the long cross-atlantic journey, but due to the shuffle just a few hours before takeoff, we were left with some of the worst seats on the new flight. Not much sleep and very uncomfortable. I can't believe that TA would just change our itinerary like this without any warning, then be so inhospitable."

Although we already went through This terminal we were baggage check/metal detectors, then everyone questioned about why we traveled, bag was hand checked, and we got two body pat downs one after another. Felt really unnecessary. Worst part this terminal is in a glass box so if you leave to use the restroom or get coffee, you gotta go through the process again. A real headache. Movie selection on flight is limited and the seating needs more leg room. I think this airline has the least amount of leg room."

Going from Chicago to Amman I was seated in seat 16A while my husband was placed on the other side of the airplane in seat 17K!! On the ride back, I was in seat 13A and my husband in 30C!!!!! Prior to check in and during check in, I was informed that I was not able to select our seats, and that we would just have to arrange seating ourselves once we were on the plane!! A week prior to leaving Amman my husband called rj and talked to a representative who changed our seats."

They will never improve or learn from their mistakes"

Points négatifs : "Check-in in the Cairo airport: different lines led to large differences in processing time ... our line also processed business class which led to us taking over one hour for check-in (basically being the last one) and having to run through security even when we arrived rather early. No initiative by the check-in attendants to balance between the lines. When they opened two more counters to process check-in they only processed the 'fast' line. Pro tip: avoid the (economy) check-in line next to the business counter. This probably led to the second problem ... they gave us separate seats when traveling with a young child."

Everyone was confused and they never fixed the departure board. It showed the flight before was delayed and ours had departed but really it was the opposite. No one had any information. We departed hours later with still no concrete information, we just had to follow the people on our flight."
