The crew was the best part, so pleasant and helpful and professional. We were instructed to close the shades and were allowed to sleep and woken up for the custom form and the great meal which had the option of soda or wine, etc. at no additional cost. The quality of the food was impressive and the salad even came with a packet of real Portuguese olive oil and vinegar. When appropriate we all had to open the shades and drinks were served again and later a small snack of a sandwich and a juice were given all in perfect timing."

I had to tell 3-4 crew members for them to at least broadcast a movie to my seat to make the flashing stop. I was also seated right next to the bathroom, which usually isn't so bad, but since most of the passengers were elderly, it was being used literally nonstop for the majority of the flight. The crew only briefly cleaned it once... I was seated next to a screaming toddler as well. This isn't really the airline's fault, but it certainly didn't help. I felt like I did not get my money's worth for this flight and that it was a poor experience."

The staff always seemed to be working, but was completely inefficient in getting anything done. It took them 20 minutes to respond to our notice (we pressed the air attendant button on our seats) and then told us we couldn't get snacks because they were giving out pizzas, which took another hour. Every single part of our flight was delayed and inefficient... with no reason ever being given. It was pretty miserable overall and I will likely never use Air Europa ever again."

When we boarded and realized the plane was half empty we shrugged our shoulders. Why? Airlines have become so greedy, I am sure if they could charge for seat belts and toilets they would. Airplanes have become glorified city buses."

The crew elas not very strick considering rules: I was forced to warn a passenger to turn off his Phone when we had already took off. He was in a call for almost 15 minuts since we turn on our seat belts!"

I wasn't happy about that & asked the manager if there was anything he could do for me. In the end I ended up paying the extra to guarantee my seat. Then at the gate my name was called and I was given a complete upgrade to business class at no extra charge. It was great! And I actually got some sleep on the flight. Thank you Air Europa"

Points négatifs : "I've traveled to spain since I was born with Iberia. And the airplanes used by Iberia are much more confortable than the ones used buy AirEuropa. The AE crew is better thant the Iberia ones. It's an 8hrs. flight and the seats and LEGS area need to be more larger. Plane with no TV's on the headrest....This should be standard on planes!!!"

Points positifs : "Initially there was a serious problem…my husband had gone to Rome separately and bought our return ticket for a week later, he had the ticket with him. I had only a one-way ticket to Rome, changing flights in Madrid. The ticket agent informed me that I could not leave unless I had a return ticket, that Spain would not allow me in. I could not reach my husband as it was 3 am in Rome. I had to buy another return ticket, but I bought it from Delta as some other Swiss airline ladies kindly informed me that it would be cheaper…did not feel like getting it from Air Europa. At the airport the extra return ticket cost $1,700 from Delta. The Delta lady helpfully told me to be sure to cancel the ticket immediately when I reached Rome, staying within Delta's refundable 24-hour grace period. During the rest of the trip, no one in Spain or Rome asked to see my return ticket. I do not know if this was a real problem or not. The rest of the flights were okay…unremarkable food and entertainment, but nothing horrendous. Nice fresh packet of pillow and blanket."

Cela m'a valu presque 2 heures de téléphone avec Air Canada (0.15 euro la minute). Et puis au comptoir d'enregistrement, nouveau gros problème, celui-là très grave à mon sens. L'agent de comptoir m'a dit que je n'avais pas d'ESTA, donc que je ne pouvais pas partir, alors que j'en avais un. En pleine panique, j'ai appelé ma mère qui heureusement a retrouvé en 5 minutes dans son ordinateur mon numéro d'ESTA. Finally I told her that she is certainly looking for a way to get me off the flight to which she answered "I can certainly find something!!!" Cultural sensitivity is needed with these stewardesses who are racist like I don't understand and I was certainly polite!"

Travelling home, the flight was delayed 1h30m, the gates were shifted 3 times for departure, we had to sprint this time for conmection again B to A terminals. On the flight we were told Edinburgh connection would be rebooked so go to desk, however we made the flight just and so did the luggage, if we had waitied as told to rebook our luggage would have landed in Edinburgh with us stuck in Brussels. Won't be using again."

Everyone (about 70-80 passengers) stood for a long while at Budapest Airport for baggage pickup, then went over to talk to Hungarian lost luggage personnel to file their baggage. Why didn't the airline tell us upon check-in, or even announce to the passengers on the aircraft that the bags had not been loaded? This would have saved everyone 10 hours later to try to figure out what happened."

There was not enough time before flight to get someone in charge to talk to so we paid to check 2 bags."

The row where my husband sat was empty (row 1) so I don't know why i was put on row 2 when we could have sat together on row 1. This is very bizarre. Furthermore I had to walk half way down the aisle to put my suitcase because all the overhead lockers were full. The flight attendant who was overseeing all this was very rude and kept telling me that I need to walk all the way down to find a space to store the luggage. She could have offered to have a look with me and try to squeeze it somewhere closer than half way down the plane."

I paid for my son when we were flying out but when coming back l refused to pay. Guess what happened they allocated my 22 year old to sit on the emergency exit. The crew then came to me asking if l could swap seats with my son as he was not allowed to sit there as if it was me who had allocated him that seat. If it was the other way round they would have asked me to pay. When it suits them."

Then the staff spent the entire flight flogging merchandise - drinks, terrible food (even by airline standards), even lottery tickets! Real airlines like Lufthansa and KLM only seem marginally more expensive for travel in Europe, and make air travel infinitely more enjoyable."
