Excellent except for food

JAL is one of the most professional & efficient airlines I’ve experienced. The food was very good: even in Economy! The entertainment interface needs some updating.

Trash they booked a flight that was non existent had to call credit card company for chargeback. Do not fly with them or book through kayak they will cancel ur flight without notification

Left late and arrived late other than that it was good

So I requested the representatives at the check in counters at both airports to change our seats so that we could seat next each other. They were willing to help us out and we got the great seats. They had to ask other customers to help this out, too. In the airplanes, the flight attendants were extremely helpful and friendly when we asked them questions and favors, with nice smiles and calm quiet voices. No wonder the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet during the both flights. The leg room was roomier and the facilities were newer. When I saw three pilots bowed to the customers before getting into the airplane, I felt they were very professional and ready for their jobs."

There is not much good to say. Boarding process is time consuming, food should improve a lot and entertainment choices are limited and outdated.

Service disparity was apparent. One less meal for a 16hr flight. Seats were super cramped at the rear end of the flight. Ground staff switched us to the bulkhead row since we were traveling with a toddler even though we didnt need a bassinet and booked another seat.

The problem was with Hong Kong International Airport. It seems HKIA is experiencing 'traffic jam' very often. It's quite risky for the passenger like me who is expected to have another long journey back home after arriving in HKIA. Should be praying again and again in order to take the AEL and MTR before the service is over around 1 AM."

I understand these things happen but for a passenger who had to start with a delayed flight, followed by another delayed connecting flight then had to be in the air for almost 3 hours just to have to land back wait for to change aircraft It was too much and felt Like a complete waste of time. I do commend the crew for tending to us."

Points négatifs : "On both flights my party of 2 was split, despite an early check-in. We were lucky enough to swap seats because ANOTHER family was also split between us on the first flight. On the second, 3 parties were all split in the 3 rows in front of us, so we had to shuffle 4 different people before take off before the majority of the people were sat together. On 10 hour flights, generally I feel parties shouldn't be split unless they're checking in later than we did."
Points négatifs : "It was very hot in the cabin. We were told that it was airline policy to keep the cabin that temperature. There is no way to adjust the temperature yourself. Also the chicken entrees should be avoided. If given the option chose the Korean meal."

On my flight from LA to Seoul, the crew was constantly in the aisles offering water and juice without being summoned by passengers. There were a few times when I wished that someone would come by with water or juice, but didn't want to press the call button to get them. Lunch options as we neared LAX were both Asian style, and a middle-ground option would have been appreciated. On the outbound flight to Seoul we had breakfast options that included pancakes."

During boarding, I asked one of the staff if I can have a window seat because I have motion sickness and aisle seats make me feel ill. She looked at me flustered and said all seats are booked and that I'll be Ok with the aisle seat. On a different CP flight, a different staff was helping a couple switch with other passengers so they can sit next to each other. That would have been nice if they did that for me when I asked for a window seat."

The entertainment screen didn't recover even after reset and was still frozen until the end of the trip. For 12 hours, I sat in my seat without an entertainment system which was very boring."

At the airport they were very helpful in getting me onto another flight, as my flight had been delayed, which in turn would make me miss my second flight. All the cabin crews were very friendly. I think that the people that work for Cathay make up for a lot of what Cathay lacks in other aspects."
Points négatifs : "There was not enough information about the flight delays and the causes for these delays. It was a little stressful and rushed as my layover in HK was quite short. The boarding process could be a lot better if people were boarded according to rows. Food on most Cathay flights in general was pretty disappointing. It would also be great to have wi-fi on the flights. Especially considering how long some of the flights can be."

At the time of check in the only seat left available was an exit row so I could not proceed. Also, their airplanes are not equipped with Wi-Fi - quite unfortunate when you're flying 16 hrs from HK to NYC!"
