Well less than 24 hrs before we were scheduled to fly out, the exact same day, they cancel our flight! After a lot of phone calls and wait times we were booked onto TAP AIR PORTUGAL. Easy check in, my carry on was great, entertainment was on point, food was good (first European trip), crew was nice, plane was huge; just a good experience overall. I will definitely fly with them again."

Nos meus últimos 3 vôos pela TAP, a tripulação vem se mostrando muito mais cordial e até mesmo divertida, sendo bastante simpática. Ainda pode melhorar? Claro que sim, mas agora não tenho mais "medo" de pedir um copo d'água a mais para os comissários."

In the original flight I had selected an aisle seat but somehow ended up in the middle. My whole rows TVs didn’t work and no one helped us or cared (contrasted to Singapore Airlines which actually cared when a similar issue happened). Customs forms were all in French even though we were flying into JFK. Awful airlines."

L’employé du comptoir n’a rien voulu entendre et m’a fait perdre mon temps."

This caused me a lot of stress as when I called lastminute.com to find out what was going on as TAP didn’t have a flight leaving to my destination it was only after several minutes of conveying there was no Tap flight that the customer service rep said oh you are to check in with Azores Air."

Points négatifs : "We arrived at Logan airport to find a mass of people waiting to check in for the flight. Turns out, Azores Airlines flights had been being cancelled all week and many people had been stranded in Boston (and likewise in the Azores) for days. The local news was even filming a story about the mess while we were there. The monitors above the check in desks did not have any information and there didn't really appear to be a line. No employees were around to explain what was going on. Eventually an announcement was made that our flight was cancelled and to come back the next day. Still no info on the monitors at the airline desks or on the main airport arrivals and departures board, which continued to show the flight as on time the duration of our time at the airport. I had the app on my phone which also showed the flight as being on time. After the cancellation announcement people stayed in line to get hotel vouchers, but since my husband and I live in Boston we weren't sure if there was another part of the process to get new tickets issued or something. After waiting a long time in which the line never moved I was eventually able to check in with an employee who said we didn't need to do anything, just come back tomorrow. When we got home we were able to catch the news broadcast mentioned earlier in which passengers from the earlier flights were explaining how they kept being told to come back to the airport day after day and nothing happened, so I wasn't reassured! The next day we arrived at Logan and things started out smoothly. We were able to check in and get through security. The flight got delayed a few times after that. Boarding was a mess. People started lining up. While we waited, we noticed people at the gate desk in line. It turned out to be people getting reimbursed for their taxis. There was no announcement made and I think this delayed things further since they didn't start this until boarding was starting despite having had hours to do this prior! After people were already lined up to board it was announced that they would board by "sequence number" on the ticket so we stepped out of line only to have them not check numbers at all. In the end we took off about 26 hours after we were supposed to. The flight itself was a sort of charter flight, the airline basically rented a plane and crew to get us over to the Azores. However, we did take the Azores Airline flight back so I know the food would have been mediocre and there wouldn't be in seat entertainment. I would love to return to the Azores but I'm not sure I would unless Azores Airlines steps up their game! Definitely get trip interruption insurance! We were thankfully able to get reimbursed for accommodations and rental car missed days."

Points négatifs : "Service. Food. And the return was worse - they cancelled two consecutive flights with no notice, causing us to stay three extra days, incur connection fees, other costs, and they could care less. Wound up flying to Lisbon on Ryanair. SATA says no refund. Worst airline in the world. We would never go back to Azores, thanks to them."

Points négatifs : "Never had such an uncomfortable flight! The temperature at my seat was far too hot- I and others were sweating constantly. Also I am 6' 3" but wouldn't recommend anyone over 6' fly this airline, at least not in the normal economy seats- I've never had the experience of being unable to move my legs due to the seat in front."

Points négatifs : "Trying to be impartial on this review as it was my return trip that was a nightmare. I honestly just slept through the entire flight. It seems pretty obvious that SATA Has a monopoly on US flights to the Azores and they are making no effort to improve service."

Points négatifs : "Delayed 4 times without explanation. No option to select vegetarian meal at time of ticket purchase or check in. Boarding is a free for all. No order, just a mass of people funneling in to get through the gate. Then had to get on a shuttle bus to the plane... which took us to the wrong plane. Boarding the plane is also a free for all. The disorganization must have at least doubled the required boarding time."

Points positifs : "Very very very budget. Old aircraft, poor service, overall negative experience."
Points négatifs : "The seats were very cramped, small and poor. The staff was unresponsive. The lights were on all night (red eye!) and the meal service was unnecessary (12 midnight?!)."

Points négatifs : "The 12 hour delay without being told why. We would be told we would leave at a certain time and then it was cancelled, told a different time and it was cancelled, and told again, etc was suppose to be in Lisbon in the morning, arrived in Lisbon near midnight."

Points négatifs : "Please don't take Azores. I travelled around the world and Azores has been the worst. They went on strike...again, because the workers don't get there working schedule early enough!!! So I've been stuck 3 days in expensive hotel Boston. Never had any answer (1 week now) if they would find me an hotel or pay for it. It's good I've money because I would be even more desesperate. It cost me around 500$. It took days of stressful time to get a tiny bit of information but most of the time they don't answer any simple question, by phone or email. They tell me things, but they don't do it! They finally changed my flight...5 times! and once by email in a afternoon telling me my new flight schedule is in 2 hours!!! I won't have enough room to tell you everything that happen and you might get bore but the list is very long. And I'm the person who complaint the less normaly. By the way I happen to met a ex-fly attendant who quited because of the relation in that compagny and another (passenger) that had problem with Azores and she also told me these azores flight are quite often delay because they are base on Azores island and the fly condition over there are bad like with the wind."

I understand that flights get delayed but they hardly gave us any information as to what was going on. The flight was pretty smooth but the flight attendants didn't seem interested in our comfort. They weren't rude but they weren't pleasant either. I guess I'm used to a different style of service that I did not receive on Azores."

Points négatifs : "Everything. This airline is the bare minimum. No TV's, no WIFI, uncomfortable seats, no leg room, NO AIR VENT, narrow isles, unfriendly flight attendants... Should I continue? There are no amenities with this airline. It's like stepping back in time... Worst airline I have ever flown!"

Points positifs : "The a330 was nice, seats had a good incline and cabin crew was very accommodating and friendly to me."
Points négatifs : "In flight entertainment didn't work at all Food was bland, but somewhat on par with American carriers (low bar). But the ticket was pretty cheap. Very cold"
