Shortly after take-off, our calm and comfortable more or less empty section of the aircraft was colonised by an extended family of Orthodox Jews in a kind of airborne West Bank situation. They weren’t in our section of the cabin at all to start with, and I don’t know why they were apparently able to get a free upgrade that I had to pay £100 for. We went from being in an almost empty cabin to being basically sat in the middle of an Orthodox Jewish kindergarten. It was awful! They were noisy, messy, were constantly getting in and out of their seats, the back of my seat kept getting kicked, and there was even a baby crawling around the aisle. We were surrounded. I have no idea whether this is characteristic of Orthodox Jewish family life, or just a completely inconsiderate family. They didn’t exactly ruin my flight, but they didn’t make it enjoyable either. I asked to be moved. The cabin crew were great and acknowledged the difficulty of the situation. My wife lost her window seat but at least we still had the legroom and peace and quiet."

Multiple levels of passport control and baggage checkout are chaotic, but that's for most all flights coming into USA? VIrgin/Delta handled it well enough. By the time we got through passport control in Boston ur bags were waiting and we had no problems at all."

Also, the entertainment system didn't properly work until rebooted, but flight attendants could not be contacted to get this done timely (cannot call attendants through a non-functional screen). Another concern is the noise level of the cabin, but it's mostly due to passengers."

Seats are definitely way too tight now....I am NOT overweight but, sitting in a middle seat, had trouble eating because I couldn't move my elbows."

Points négatifs : "The flight was delayed 15 minutes, then 1 hour, then 3 hours, then 6 hours. All because Lufthansa had to fly a technician in from Munich to Toulouse...because there was no other technician in an international airport that could do the 30 minutes inspection to find out there was nothing wrong with the plane in the first place? This obviously made us miss our flight from Munich to Denver, and we had to spend an extra night in Germany before finally getting home."

British Airways is significantly better."
