Everything went smoothly, from the check-in where the check-in and baggage staff informed me that one of my check-in bags was a little over weight and gave me a chance to repack the bag so I did not need to pay. Security lines for the red-eye flight time were not long, and once I arrived at the gate, EVA's boarding crew moved passengers along quickly. Flight attendants were very professional and courteous. Landing and baggage claim went well. No complaints at all! I would recommend this flight to anyone wanting direct service from Chicago to Taipei."

The male crew member did not want to be there. He grunted at the passengers. He was annoyed and when clearing food trays dropped it and aI wore custard all over me and the armrest of my seat. Fortunately I had a blanket covering me so it all landed on that. He was more upset that it also splattered him."

Yet when I got off the plane, I realized that I was nevertheless charged for $12. This was definitely annoying, and they still haven't gotten back to me. Secondly, which is very frustrating and infuriating, was the fact that not only was my checked luggage delayed, they did not call me or reply to my emails with any useful information on my luggage's situation. To this date, I have no idea where it is, if it's lost or damaged, or when can they deliver it to me. I had all my clothes, my DSLR camera and gifts in my luggage, and I had to buy a bunch of stuff in the next few days because I didn't have those things. It has been more than a week, and they still haven't gotten back to me on anything. For this reason alone, I think they totally deserve a poor overall rating, especially because I chose them in the first place because I trusted their good ratings."

And I have to trash my carry on of $80 value. I was not at all happy. I noticed in the flight so many passengers have the same size carry on, which I have to trash. On my return journey from Delhi to Abu Dhabi I was talking to a woman in the security line, who was sharing the same experience and she told me that they charge her $400 for one extra suitcase. To me that was shocking as how come I was asked $300 for extra checked in bag and she was charged $400. No idea what kind of policies Etihad has for extra baggage. I would like Etihad management to pay attention to the airport staff dealings with customers."

Even I was first few to be served in the cabin, I was given paneer with rice without offering any options. I complained that how can they possibly run out of options already. They run to the front and got me a chicken meal and told me that was the last one they have. Haha, I totally believed him (not). The meal before landing we were served paneer again. Ugh! Plane is overall dated. They made everybody to fit and weigh the carry on before boarding. My carryon did not fit (although it was pretty standard size carry on) and was over their 7kg (15lbs) weight. I checked mine in since I did not check in any other luggage. But many people were forced check in and pay extra check in fee because they are already at their luggage allowance."
