Wonderful crew, though, can't say enough about how polite and attentive they are."

We got there two hours early for our flight and there was already a long line at the desk and no agents at the counter. Finally some agents arrived started checkng people in. After 15 min in line, they told us that if we were flying to the U.S., our flight was delayed and we would not make our connection, and to get out of line and wait. After 20 more minutes, they said that was a mistake and get back in line. I waited for approximately an hour and a half in line there, and had to run to my flight. There was no effort made to hurry us through security or any apologies."

My luggage didn't travel with me so it didn't arrive in Orlando when I did. I was fortunate that it made the next flight so I only had to wait an hour. Some fellow Irish passengers weren't so lucky."

BA has tons of movies and TV to choose from, and lots of first-run. This had about 6 TV shows, 2 episodes each, and maybe 20 movies, ranging in age but mostly not very new. When you're on a daytime flight for 7 hours, this becomes something you care about."

There were 4 people in line ahead of us. No one from Are Lingus arrived until 7:45. There were no apologies, no friendly welcome, just officious personnel who could have cared less about us. We had had a problem at JFK on our flight out and we were told to expect problems on the return. The clerk separated me from my wife and sister (who needed a wheel chair) and then issued us boarding passes only for the flight to Dublin without explanation. I waited in a line at the gate for another 2 hours to straighten it out."

Very cold on flight, crew did not regulate the climate control. Too many unnecessary announcements both in English then French. Each announcement seemed like it lasted about 10 minutes which no one listen. So much for trying to watch a movie that pauses every time the crew feels the needs to talk. Sat at gate for 30 minutes pass departure time without any explanation until right before we departed (waiting on passengers from late arriving flights). At lease they could have told us. Anyhow this is not the Air Canada of old. Air Canada Rouge shows no signs that they care about the comfort of their passengers."

He was suffering from food poisoning from the previous flight and was unable to hold it in before the plane took off. They were very gracious with making sure that he had sufficient vomit bags and after the fasten seat belt light turned off, they allowed him to move seats in order to sit closer to the bathrooms. While this was a very difficult journey for him, the crew made it slightly more bearable."

Also, even though I specified to the flight attendant that I was connecting to Toronto before going to the US , they only gave me the US custom form even though you apparently need to fill the Canadian one even if you are just transiting through the country."

Only perk was the cost of the flight $1100 from Orlando to Nice. They had the best price for a last minute flight. But not worth it. My god I have to say this is really the most unorganized airline I've ever flown."

They knew all along there would be no seat # ever as they had overbooked by 12 passengers but didn't have the decency to tell me or apologize and explain. I was in line-ups for the 3 1/2 hrs I was in Toronto trying to get a seat and not knowing till the very last minute that I had one. The very back row next to the toilet. I will never recommend to fly Air Canada."
Points négatifs : "gate assignment kept changing so i bounced through the airport more than i would have liked to since i was trying to get some work done between flights. in addition, the final gate assignment was tight to say the least; people were literally sitting on the floor next to the moving walkway. this isn't an Air Canada problem it's a Pearson problem and made the experience less than pleasant."

We transferred from an overnight flight on Air Canada and the morning flight was very uncomfortable with no complimentary entertainment."

Upon arriving to the airport the flight was still showing 59 mins delayed. Oddly, with all of the early communxaruin, it suddenly ceased! No communication for at least 2 hrs before the flight. Even as the 'would be' boarding window, the line formed with people asking questions... yet there were no answers or updates to the proposed time of departure. Even when the 59 min late departure came and went, there was NO communication. Folks were in an uproar! Finally, with no announcement, the gate attendant just started checking boarding passes and letting people go through the gate. Huh? I have zone 1, yet he said, we're just boarding everybody.... and, on the 3+ hr flight, only 1 bathroom worked. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!"
Points positifs : "Bad experience I was sitting in the last row and half way through the flight one of the toilets got clogged and started to overflow and smell up the area. There was a puddle of water running down towards the isle and the crew member was telling her colleagues to leave it alone and let it run so she can see how bad it gets for when we land. Extremely unsanitary and unexceptable to travel with that smell and conditions. Plus to top it all off towards the end the overhead bin got jammed and I had to wait for someone to pop in open, again its unfortunate I had to go through this. Never again, I would not recommend spirit sorry."

I waited at the airport for until 1:30am before I got a confirmation that the back was in fact at Newark still. I had a nursing convention to go to and I had no clothing. So I had to Uber to Walmart than Uber back to my hotel. So I didn’t get any sleep. I didn’t check into my hotel til 4am due to a negligent spirit employee. I paid for the checked bag and there was plenty of space in the over head compartment. She caused me unnecessary stress and an embarrassing morning with my administrators due to my lack of sleep."

The pilots did a wonderful job during take off, during our flight and landing! We’re all blessed for such a safe flight."

I think the zones could be broken up better and should be so that apart from the benefit of boarding early, the rest of the paying passengers don’t have to wait for long periods of time to board, our satisfaction should matter too. Also, my 5 year old was super sad and disappointed that the flight did not serve snacks (even though we ate while waiting at the gate for our flight to arrive). He looks forward to the snacks that many airlines serve aboard. Just thought I’d mention that."

Finally he helped and printed my boarding pass. People shouldn't be treated like this. I pay my taxes and I don't have to choose spirit. I can fly through another airliner. When I brought this to the attention of Spirit CSRs, The answer was "Yeah, sometimes it does that." Unacceptable. TSA precheck is a convenience for passengers and, more importantly, an added level of security for TSA personnel. Prechecked passengers have already been background screened. These passengers are known safe entities in an uncertain security environment. Each person prechecked is one less security threat TSA needs to assess, meaning TSA can focus more effort on potential threats. Denying a precheck customer precheck status makes everyone's life more difficult. Fix your system, then train employees on how to appropriately deal with these issues."

After 2 hours of waiting was when Spirit decided to offer us 3 oz of water and a tiny package of cookie. Thank God for no medical emergency, but they didn't come out and offer actual bottles of water and/or a real snack. Terrible consideration toward the passengers."

The plane was still boarding, I was standing in front of my seat, not in the aisle, so passengers could continue to pass by. Very rude."

Points négatifs : "Spirit airlines is the worst airlines by showing cheap ticket prices, but then charges you for getting a seat and carry-on bags. Their customer service is just as bad. Had a medical emergency and a family member had to be taken to the emergency room on the departure day and although the ticket was unrefundable they gave me a stinken $60 credit that has to be booked in the next month. Unlike the other airlines I was flying back on that gave me a FULL credit of the unrefundable ticket price to be used within the next year! Kudos to American Airlines!!"
Points négatifs : "Check-in at reservations section was terrible...there were 2 lines of passengers checking in and 1 line had 3 agents checking passengers in and the other line had 1 agent checking passengers in. We were second in line...in the wrong line with only 1 agent checking passengers in...we waited 20 minutes to get helped, because the party in front of us (with 2 in line) actually had a ticket for 6 passengers (4 of whom showed up several minutes later), who had to decide/pay for luggage options ,etc.. If you have 2 lines & 4 agents, 2 agents should be serving each line...enough for me never to fly Spirit again!"

Basically, "Have a nice trip, let me start by robbing you." Crew - During the flight, I used the on-flight lavatory. As is normal in most flights, there's no space between the last row of passengers and the mini-room at the back of the plane. To keep from putting my rear in another passenger's face, I stepped into the mini-room until the stewardess commanded that I wait behind the "silver line." Sorry other passenger. At the least be courteous about your command with me and/or the passenger who had to sit in the rear (pun intended). Comfort - No seat back storage, and the flight was as cold as is bearable for the average person. Food & Entertainment - None available. Upon asking for water, we were instead offered ice."

Points négatifs : "We chose not to "purchase" seats so as to keep the flight price low. What I did not realize in that is how close we came to almost not having a seat. About an hour before the flight came the inevitable "we are overbooked and will compensate for anyone who wants to take a different flight". Shortly afterward came the announcement that the plane they were expecting was significantly smaller than anticipated and the last 30 people to check in who did not purchase a seat would be bumped - too bad so sad. Fortunately for us we had checked in right at the 24 hour mark and were not part of that group of 30. Bag fees are quite high and size limitations are much more stringent - we needed to use different suitcases so as to not exceed their maximums."

Points positifs : "Used Kayak to find cheap flights that fit our time frame. Spirit airlines proved to be a quick and reliable airline getting us to Chicago 15 mins early. When departing Chicago email notifications kept us up to date on possible delays of flight caused by weather conditions. I called Spirit customer service representative and changed my flight to avoid the worst of the weather. They were able to make the changes and honor the seating arrangements I had made for my family of five. Great experience!!"

When I got to the counter no one had boarded the plane. By the time everyone had borded the plane I was still in the line. I had already told the representative that I needed a seat. I was getting anxious because I did nnot want to lose my flight and attempted to talk to both reps to see what was going on. One told me I had to wait for the other rep, without even looking at my face. The other ignored me many times until he heard me complain to another customer."

We still had our daughter to the airport within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled flight. When she got to the terminal she was told that the flight left early, there were no more flights, and she was charged $99 to rebook for the next morning. The attendant was also rude to her, once she was able to get her off her (personal) phone. I believe they should have actually apologized for the inconvenience instead of charging her. This airline is the WORST."

Can't pick a seat without paying, that's just silly. Block off the seats that need to have an upcharge and then let people pick seats if they want, it just keeps people happier and costs you nothing. Other: you should not ask about food or entertainment since the food on the plane costs money and most people don't purchase it, especially on short trips like this one. And there is no entertainment available, so asking me to rate it is pointless (plus if there was entertainment, I'm sure that would just be another purchase item). Seats: are mediocre at best"

Then after we boarded, we were informed that the bathrooms weren't working and anyone who needed to go would need to get off and then we could leave when they were back - another delay. Then we were told the bathrooms would work we took off, so some people went back to their seats. Then the story changed and the bathrooms were not going to work and be locked for the whole flight, so a bunch of people had to get back up to deboard the plane. Keep in mind, this was a late evening flight to Orlando, so plenty of tired kids with small bladders aboard."
Points positifs : "The price is right for the base fare, but Spirit gets you with all the extra fees. Baggage cost is very high, and higher at the airport if you don't 'pre-purchase' bags to check online. The weight allowance for checked bags is only 40 pounds with massive fees for heavier bags, and they charge for carry on, too. Checking just one 30 pound bag doubled my total cost of flying, and it would have been more if I hadn't pre-purchased. They even charge for water on the plane, which I find really bad. Maybe it's just me, coming from Australia where you're legally required to provide free water, but this rubs me up the wrong way. They also charge if you need agent assistance to check in at the airport. The staff were all very polite and friendly, and the overall experience was fine, but the extra fees do NOT make it worth it. It makes the guests feel unwelcome and each extra step and extra charge makes the whole experience more stressful and complicated. You could pay a slightly higher base fare with United, for example, but probably save money with more generous baggage/check-in procedures, and have a worry-free experience, too. The staff were great; it's the company policies I have a problem with."

Points négatifs : "Our flight was delayed 3 hours for mechanical issues. The staff at the gate was the unprofessional...rude, sarcastic and just plain miserable. I even witnessed a shouting match between the gate crew and a customer who walked up to ask what the new time for take off was...She answered his question by stating, "the same time I said 5 minutes ago." The male passenger didn't hear the announcement (because she talked so fast). He kept asking and she kept repeating her snarky response about "the time time I just told you" until it became heated. Absolutely ridiculous. Not much improved when we made it on the aircraft. It felt like it was a shell of what a "finished" aircraft should look like. All in all a pitiful experience. I hate that I already purchased my return flight with Spirit. Saving $50 was NOT WORTH IT!!!!!"

They said we had to check-in online, which we tried twice to do, but it wouldn't let me because a balance for our baggage and seats did not go through. Interestingly, when I entered the credit card info it never once told me the credit card was invalid or that any issue had occurred. When I called the number it gave when it wouldn't let me check in I got an automated system that had no option for "speak to a representative" or "check-in." The ticketing counter told me they literally can't print a ticket after 45 min until flight and Latrobe's single gate TSA checkpoint "closed" at 6:30 for this 7 flight. Meanwhile, I watched "security" walk behind the counter when we got there. Spirit refused to refun is the money for the flight. We will never fly Spirit or out of Latrobe PA EVER AGAIN."

They had 2 people working at the kiosks and both were slower than molasses. There were several employees that walked up to the kiosks but none of them assisted customers. They had no urgency at all. On top of that, the lady that I interacted with was very rude. She talked to me like I was a complete moron and apologized that another Spirit team in Orlando "didn't do their job properly but O'Hare employees follow the rules". Overall, not impressed at all and I will avoid booking with Spirit on future flights."

When I checked in they did not say anything. At the security the attendant marked something on my boarding pass but did NOT advise me that my bag was big by their standard. When boarding the plane they saw my boarding pass and asked for $100. It was then they informed me that when I checked in they should have charged me $55 which is their rate. But at the gate it is $100. Since I was at the gate I had no choice but to pay the $100. $55 for carry-on bag that all other airline has not issue with is ridiculous. Having to pay $100 for a CARRY on bag is absurd. This was my first and last time with Spirit airlines. Nor will I ever recommend Spirit airline to anyone."
Points positifs : "liked the cost. flight was good plane was clean but could have been a bit cleaner (windows) seats we good (could have been a little softer) I noticed that some of the flight crew were not as focused on their attention to the passengers. I did notice that the stewardess in our area (who sat right in front of me (exit seat )) was on her cell phone texting or playing a game or what ever young people do on their phones. as a travelling public person, my comfort level or expectation is that all the time I am on board, that the crew is on duty and focused on their duties, which should include, not being distracted by using personal electronic devises at anytime. Secondly, the uniforms that the attendants wore seemed to be a little less cared for or clean as other airlines. Lastly, (this may be picky,) but it seemed that the hair of a few of the attendants seemed unkempt at a level in keeping with the beautiful airplane we were in. There was a steward that came on the plane who looked light his shirt was too big (collar was too big for his neck) as was the size of his coat. As a business owner myself, I appreciate the small things, as these can be the things that overshadows all of the other things we do to provide a good product, service or experience for our customers. Personal inner Professionalism is a mindset that transcends and fuels ongoing service, at levels which a rule book alone cannot attain. (employees who are proud of where they work, who they work with and for, end up delivering on our promises as owners.) I like your web site and appreciate the "fun" you have built into it. I understand the message it sends, but as we know, most people expect the lower fares from Spirit, but don't get the steps you must take to be able to provide those fairs and still cover ALL THE BILLS. I paid, and they had a confirmation number. but the amount of time it took to sort it out - made them miss their flight. they then had to drive 2 hours home. then get up at 2am the next day to take a different flight. arriving 1 day late and cutting their vacation short. because they didn't pick up their rental car the day they were supposed to they got an additional charge for that as well. HORRIBLE experience. I would like to know who I can talk to for customer compensation."

Points négatifs : "I had a 6 am flight. At 5 am we were told that it would be delayed until 10:30. At 8 we were told it would be delayed until 11:30. At 11:20 they announce that our plane landed and just needed to unload and get cleaned and we could start boarding shortly. Two minutes claret we were told the flight was cancelled. They told us everyone would fit on the 3:49 flight that would arrive in Orlando at 4:10. By that time I was tired of waiting and just wanted to get to Orlando so I asked to get on the flight to Tampa that was leaving at 12:15. The airline wouldn't get me a flight that was with delta that would have leaf at 6:55. They only offered a seat on one of their later flights, a refund, or a $7 meal voucher. That meal voucher wasn't even enough to cover the cost of a bagel and coffee. Also when I purchased the ticket it didn't say anything about paying for a carry-on bag. When I got to the airport I found out I had to pay $55 to take my carry-on. This was my worst flight experience."

The space was tight which I expected but the seats were uncomfortable. I didn't dare buy anything because just my checked bag was $80 round trip BEFORE I got to the airport. Forget picking seats....I always checked in 24hrs ahead online and both times I was in the very back of the plane. Spirit airlines is perfect for a budget and a quick trip. I was flying out for a funeral. I can't say that I would fly them again. To fly my family and keep my young children with me, I'd be better off flying United. Eventually the ticket price would be the same, but better service and better choices, and some entertainment."

Points négatifs : "The experience was lukewarm. I didn't enjoy being nickel-and-dimed at every turn, which was the impression I was left with at the end of the experience. The a la carte pricing, rather than putting the passenger/customer in the position of control (e.g. you get to only pay for what you want), gave the impression of being deceptive and stingy (the airline gets to brag about having low fares, while hitting you for every piece of luggage and bag of peanuts). This vibe was probably exacerbated by the healthy "shake down" for more money, *ahem* "services," near the end of the flight, a shakedown that even involved the pilot emphasizing via intercom the benefits of what Spirit could offer. I could have done without that, and I didn't pay for it. Not only that, but as the crew only catered to those who paid for services, the flight was an exercise in courtesy that seemed to stop at the shake down, and friendliness that only truly extended to those who chose to patronize the amenity side of the airline. Also, due to the low number of people who took part in purchasing amenities, the crew had considerable time on their hands to socialize at the end of the plane, something they partook of heartily. On the comfort side, I'm also a bit taller, and the seats were the most cramped of any airline I have flown with to date. That led to a less-than-ideal situation. In all it was a completely sub-par experience. I will not be flying with Spirit in the future, if I can possibly help it."

A few minutes later another crew member rudely accused me of changing seat, took me out of the plane while she finds me another seat and the crew member that caused the confusion was nowhere to be found. I strongly suggest DON'T FLY WITH SPIRIT AIRLINE. AND FOR THE CEO OF SPIRIT AIRLINE " TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED."

However, when I learned I must become a "member" of the Spirit team to print my boarding pass I refused. Not happy with Spirit; don't want to "belong". After selecting the wrong menu, one of your "team" told me I should go to "Change Flights" and push several options to speak to a person, who told me to go to the kiosk at airport. Even there, I had to pay an additional $50 to get an assigned seat & luggage fare. Absolutely NOTHING helpful/courteous there!"

God forbid you get to the gate with an unpaid carryon; it would be $100 one-way. I would rather pay more for my ticket up front that be gouged for hidden fees. Then the flight itself; I'm 6' tall, which I realize is tall for a woman, but it's just about average for a man. I was crammed into that seat so tight!! Even with my backside all the way against the back of the seat I could still feel the pressure or the seat in front on me on my knees. Since I didn't want to pay another $22 to choose a seat (keep in mind that's a seat at the back of the plane, seats towards the front and exit rows we're going for as much as $70 round trip), I ended up in the middle seat so I couldn't even offset my legs to one side. I had to sit ramrod straight for the duration of my 3 hour flight. I wanted to cry halfway through my return flight All in all... I cannot and will not recommend spirit airlines to anyone. CONSIDER YOURSELVES FORWARNED!! I certainly wish I had been."
